First of all, how are you and your Family doing in these COVID-19 Times?

Arsen Gasparyan: We are fine, though tired of this situation. As a computer geek, I’ve spent a couple of months at home without a problem. It was much harder to stay home for other members of my family.

Now we are in a more relaxed mode, even though there is no evidence that the situation in my city has improved. We still try to minimize the number of contacts and wear masks in public places.

Tell us about you, your career, how you Founded or Joined A-ADS.com

Arsen Gasparyan: I learned about cryptocurrency in 2011 and created my first version of the advertising network for Bitcoin users called “Anonymous Ads”. Later my friends joined this project and we visited the Bitcoin conference in Amsterdam. We’ve met Eddy Travia there, who agreed to invest in the project, and later we founded a company and renamed the site to a shorter “A-ADS.com”.

How does A-ADS.com Innovate?

Arsen Gasparyan: We were one of the first advertising networks that accept Bitcoin. Our idea was to create a simple privacy-aware user-agnostic and transparent advertising system, similar to the Bitcoin blockchain.

We suggest an alternative approach to advertising: we don’t spy on publishers’ visitors, don’t run scripts in their browsers, and don’t leave cookies until they click the ad.

This is possible because our main advertising model is pay-per-day: instead of collecting the information about website visitors to sell them to advertisers, we sell a share of ad impressions from the targeted ad units (regardless of who sees them).

How the Coronavirus Pandemic affects your Business, and how are you coping?

Arsen Gasparyan: Frankly speaking, the pandemic didn’t really affect our business. Our distributed team appeared to be well prepared for this situation.

Did you have to make Difficult Choices, and what are the Lessons Learned?

Arsen Gasparyan: Any business forces to make difficult choices from time to time. But, as I said, coronavirus was a non-issue for A-ADS. Perhaps, the most difficult decision related to the pandemic was whether to put the skull and the green crown to the illustration in our 1st April post or not. I am still not sure we made it right.

How do you deal with Stress and Anxiety, how do you Project yourself, and A-ADS.com in the Future?

Arsen Gasparyan: For me, the main reason for stress and anxiety is the uncertainty related to the Bitcoin price and our profits. Most of our funds are stored in Bitcoin and it is hard to make long-term planning.

Perhaps, we should look for fiat investments to expand our operations and accelerate development. Or wait until Bitcoin hits the moon.

Who are your Competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the Game?

Arsen Gasparyan: We’ve got a lot of competitors during recent years. Some of them were probably inspired by our service and are quite successful. We plan to continue innovating to remain competitive.

Your Final Thoughts

Arsen Gasparyan: I won’t be original to say that there is a global trend towards digitalization and virtualization of our society, and COVID-19 accelerates this transformation. People all over the world learned how to work, study, shop, and entertain themselves remotely, without leaving their apartments.

Many IT companies are beneficiaries of this situation, e. g. Zoom Video Communications Inc stocks grew thousands percent since the beginning of the year, and FAANG stocks increased their domination in the SNP500 index. Eventually, humanity will take this pandemic under control and be more resilient to similar events in the future.
