We talked to Abhishek Tiwari of SEOCharge about digital marketing and here is what he said about it.

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?

Abhishek Tiwari: I am good and my family as well. Covid has brought us closer than ever. So, I am very grateful for that. 

Tell us about you, your career, how you founded SEOCharge.

Abhishek Tiwari: I am the founder & CEO of SEOCharge, an SEO and Marketing company.

I started this company back in 2018 intending to help people, brands with SEO and help them scale their business.

My only intention was to genuinely help people because you know there wasn’t that much high-quality content available for free. 

And most people who are starting look for free resources. So I created this resource where you learn all about marketing without needing to pay a dime.

And to my surprise, people have loved that. We recently crossed 210K+ monthly users.

How does SEOCharge innovate? 

Abhishek Tiwari: So, when it comes to innovation, I tend to look at three things:

a) What my audience is struggling with

b) What do they need

c) Long term impact of our product, resources

Before launching any new resource, I try to paint a picture of my audience’s mind and interpret how would I react to it if I was the customer.

That has helped me a lot in delivering the right products to my audience.

I also try to get as much feedback as possible as that is also a very crucial part of my brand strategy.

How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?

Abhishek Tiwari: Covid affected my business in a mixed way.

Here’s what I mean by that, our reader base grew like crazy but it affected our sales and the overall productivity.

Because I have a small team, it was getting harder to meet the demands of our growing audience while at the same time doing something about our revenue.

After some two rough months, I came with a strategy to turn those free users into paying users, and that was: I offered them a free tool with every resource.

So how did it worked out?

Pretty good, our revenue skyrocketed by 78% and we were back on track.

My strategy worked because people got a lot of value from our website as well as the recommended tool.

So, playing the value game will always help you in hard times.

Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?

Abhishek Tiwari: I didn’t make that many hard choices but, the pandemic indeed taught me a lot of valuable lessons:

· People love learning from quality content

· Your revenue will grow if you don’t monetize every single thing you put out.

· Personalization works wonders

· Value beats all odds

· Focus more on understanding your audience

What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis?

Abhishek Tiwari: I am using three tools to navigate through this crisis and shine:

The first one is SEMrush: It’s an amazing competitor research tool that allows me to spy on my rivals and see what they’re up to.

This way I always make sure that I am two steps ahead of them.

The second one is Buzzsumo: This is an excellent tool to see what’s hot in the industry. It helps me with my content research and keeps me up to date with any changes in people’s interests.

And lastly, I use Sparktoro: This is an audience intelligence, meaning it collects data about what the audience in your industry wants, their feedbacks on different products, and a lot more.

Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?

Abhishek Tiwari: I do have a lot of competitors but, I don’t think or treat them as rivals. I try to work with them.

There is a good reason behind that, by joining hands with your competitors you not only build a great connection but also you can use their audience to build your own influence.

I’ve done this from day one as it works like a charm.

Your final thoughts?

Abhishek Tiwari: At last, I want to say that crises aren’t meant to cripple you but they are meant to make you more strong.

And as an Entrepreneur what’s important is how you are going to tackle it in unexpected ways.

It will make you and your business more creative, innovative, and ready for almost any future challenges.
