The Bright Side of Covid19 and the Much-Obligated Digital Transformation

We talked to Alejandro Fernández Lupiáñez, founder of Svachat, about the development of simple chatbots with artificial intelligence and this is what he said about it.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Alejandro Fernández Lupiáñez: We are all doing well, we are aware of how dangerous this virus is so we are taking extreme precautions to keep safe and healthy. Here in Spain, this pandemic has been rough but I hope everything will be better in the next few months.
Tell us about you, your career, and how you founded Svachat.
Alejandro Fernández Lupiáñez: My professional journey has always been towards customer service, especially in the retail industry. My main concern has always been to satisfy customer’s expectations and I am obsessed with offering solutions to make the overall process more efficient. Therefore, I have decided to create a startup named Svachat, which has been growing consistently in the past few months so we have good expectations for the near future.
How does Svachat innovate?
Alejandro Fernández Lupiáñez: We are a software service company focused on the creation of Chatbot for websites. We want to focus on small businesses and customers and for that reason, we have created a platform to create this tool in a few minutes and in a very easy and practical way.
We have incorporated artificial intelligence technologies and machine learning into our chatbot so the interaction between chatbot and user flows naturally. Besides, we offer a WhatsApp business API and a helpdesk software at a very accessible cost so our clients can provide better customer service to their clients.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business and how are you coping?
Alejandro Fernández Lupiáñez: Our business runs online and looking at the bright side, this pandemic has brought an opportunity for our business to grow not only in Spain but also in other Spanish speaking countries. There has been an accelerated growth in the digital industry especially for small businesses and online stores are more necessary day by day. This is where our chance to grow comes from.
Did you have to make difficult choices and what are the lessons learned?
Alejandro Fernández Lupiáñez: Initially, when Covid19 started we worked on a plan to adjust and reduce our expenses and to keep our structure as small as possible. It is logical to make these decisions during a worldwide pandemic and the uncertainness of following events. During this pandemic, we have learned of the importance of having a strong team that is committed to our goals even during the hard times.
As mentioned before, covid19 has not been that bad to us and has made our team stronger together and we are lucky to have accomplished most of our company goals. This is where I want to let everyone reading this right now, that building a strong team that you can trust is very important because they will carry you and motivate you to keep going.
What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to get through this crisis?
Alejandro Fernández Lupiáñez: As for today, some tools let you work in an automatic mode and let you reach goals that we could hardly reach working on our own. Within our growing team, we have a favorite tool called FIND THAT LEAD, which we use to find leads and possible clients worldwide. Besides, we use another tool called “scrabin” which is complimentary and helps us generate new leads through linkedIn.
Who are your competitors and how do you plan to stay in the game?
Alejandro Fernández Lupiáñez: Our main competitor is Landbot.io, which is also a company well, established in Spain. The main difference between them and us is the simplicity of the chatbot construction process that we have. Our main customer goals are in Spain and the Spanish speaking countries. For 2021, we want to start reaching the English speaking market.
What are your final thoughts?
Alejandro Fernández Lupiáñez: Ideas can always be bad, good, or excellent but everything comes from the team that executes them. There can also be external circumstances that can affect your project or your company (such as Covid19) but having a strong team will make the difference for the company to keep pushing forward.
