Alex Tarragó of Dribba Tells Us How to Innovate during the COVID-19 Times

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Alex Tarragó: Thank you for asking. We are doing well; both of my family and team are okay.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Dribba.
Alex Tarragó: I have always been a tech entrepreneur, and since high school, I was seeking ways to create my own professional career from scratch.
Before graduating from college, I created my first two companies: a mobile software agency and a high-tech clothing startup. One of them failed, and the other one is Dribba, where I am the CEO. Our primary goals are to help companies to create digital products that involve mobile.
In addition to my work as the CEO at Dribba, I teach entrepreneurship and mobile development courses in different business schools in Barcelona and Paris.
How does Dribba innovate?
Alex Tarragó: Dribba pursues a high-quality software architecture focused on mobile. We create unique and distinctive experiences using mobile as the primary communication channel.
We work with large companies and startups around the world to create and follow a digitalization process of their products or ideas.
We apply the best we know to not only create a software-oriented solution but high scalability, conversion, and user-friendly product for our clients and their users.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Alex Tarragó: As COVID will be in our day-to-day lives from now on, we are trying to keep working as we usually do, adapting our way of work and how we communicate between our coworkers and clients around the world.
Remote working, open mic sessions between coworkers, or several daily emeetings at work were some of the daily solutions we apply to keep focused and motivated at work.
Luckily, we grew and evolved during this pandemic since our clients needed more and more challenging digitalization projects to stay on track.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Alex Tarragó: Working in different physical spaces was the primary challenge we had to face at the beginning of this pandemic.
Despite that first situation, we were really impressed with how we managed the entire situation, and our resilience was key to evolve as professionals and as a company.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Alex Tarragó: Luckily, we have a broad base of loyal customers who trusted us throughout this pandemic. There is room for everyone in this ecosystem, and we plan to grow in the following months as new and more amazing digitalization projects will be made.
Your final thoughts?
Alex Tarragó: This pandemic was a challenging situation for all of us. We are constantly evolving and learning from all of this to help our clients retain and grow their business. We know this will be a difficult and long path to success, but we promise to support our customers to achieve their goals no matter what.
