We talked to Alon Carmel, CEO of Aniview, the video monetization solution and here is what he said about it.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Alon Carmel: We are well and vaccinated – thankfully. We are very lucky that in Israel, we’ve had a very fast vaccine rollout. More than half of the country is vaccinated already, and the kids are returning to in-person learning.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Aniview.
Alon Carmel: I am a serial entrepreneur. I founded Aniview in 2013. Before Aniview, I was involved in dozens of startups, primarily in the hi-tech sphere. Most notably, I am recognized as a founder of The Spark Network—which manages the JDate and Christian Mingle platforms.
Aniview is one of the most exciting companies I’ve had the pleasure to see it grow. We have new innovations in the video ad-tech space that we couldn’t have dreamed of merely a decade ago.
The company offers end-to-end video-ad monetization and video content services, such as:
· CTV, Video & OTT SaaS platform monetization ad-server
· Pre-bid serverside + SSAI
· Real-time reporting
· SDK for OTT & mobile InApp
· CMS for video content
· Outstream and instream custom-made reach media video units
· CDN and storage
How does Aniview innovate?
Alon Carmel: Our team has some of the best minds in the AdTech sphere. We look at the industry and see what the next trend in digital advertising/marketing is going to be and find a solution that works with our platform and helps our clients adapt.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Alon Carmel: We were very lucky. COVID-19 positively affected our business. As more people moved online, our publishers had more viewers, creating more space for advertising. We had a major increase in revenue, ad impressions, and the delivery of ads. Our company as a whole grew more than we could have ever imagined.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Alon Carmel: Over the years, I have become very tenacious. When I first started, I wanted to see immediate results but quickly realized that things take time; nothing happens fast. Patience is a virtue and one that all new business owners and founders need to emulate.
How do you deal with stress and anxiety?
Alon Carmel: I am extremely active. When I’m not at work, I’m often at the gym or outside doing various sports and physical activities. Doctors aren’t lying when they say endorphins really do help our mental health. I always try to take some time for myself, whether that means reading a book on a rainy day on the couch or spending some quality time with my family at the beach.
How do you project yourself and your company in the future?
Alon Carmel: Although it’s taken some time, we are now an established premium AdTech company. We will continue to develop and look for engineering talent that can propel our business forward. Aniview also fosters a warm work environment, we are a team, and when every piece is working in rhythm, we are able to continue to make strides in the AdTech sphere. We are always looking to develop more revenue streams in the business.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Alon Carmel: We have two main competitors.
· Ad servers – We have established Aniview with the most advanced technology and specialize in offering it when needed as a white label ad-servers for large aggregators. We are likely THE best option these days as a video ad-tech provider.
· SSP’s – Currently, we do have some competition when it comes to this field.
We will stay in the game by remaining competitive with continued growth and innovation. We also are always looking for fresh new talent to join the Aniview team. By hiring the best minds, we are able to read the market and the needs of our customers before they even realize they need an upgrade.
