We talked to Alp Perez, founder of A Plus Digital, about digital marketing, and this is what he said about it.

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times? 

Alp Perez: Doing Great! We managed to stay healthy so far! Hope this craziness will be over soon!

Tell us about you, your career, and how you founded A Plus Digital.

Alp Perez: Founded A Plus Digital in 2013 after working with one of the leading web design and search engine marketing agencies in Los Angeles for 2 years as an SEO consultant. I am also a certified web developer and I used this as an advantage when I first got into the industry. Whether web or SEO  I was able to handle and manage every aspect of the projects on my own without having to outsource external people.

How does A Plus Digital innovate? 

Alp Perez: We do not only work for clients, we also manage and run our own eCommerce and affiliate websites. This helps us look at things from a client perspective and adjust our workflow accordingly to provide the best customer experience.

How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?

Alp Perez: Pandemic did not really affect us. We did lose our current marketing contracts with service-based businesses after the pandemic however building businesses online became much more popular and this led us to sign more contracts than we had lost.

Did you have to make difficult choices regarding human resources and what are the lessons learned?

Alp Perez: 80% of our staff members were remote before the pandemic. We became fully and permanently remote after the pandemic. We did not have to lay off any employees due to the effects of a pandemic.

How did your customer relationship management evolve? Do you use any specific tools to be efficient?

Alp Perez: We have been using a phone management system that simplifies the customer relationship.

Did you benefit from any government grants, and did that help keep your business afloat?

Alp Perez: We knew there were government grants available but we did not have any need to apply.

Your final thoughts?

Alp Perez: Before Covid 19 , some companies had insisted on working in an old-fashioned way with no flexibility of remote work. They all had to shift their operations and adapt themselves to the new digital age and it has not been easy for them. We have seen this coming almost a decade ago and named our company “ A Plus Digital”, I think our company name says it all.
