Amit Mozar, Founder and Owner of ‘The Virtual Assist’ tells us about his unconventional blogging career.

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?

Amit Mozar: It had been a tough time, but we sailed it through successfully. Fast adaption of ‘The New Normal’ was the key to getting sanity.

We were lucky enough that we had good reach and financial backup to get home the necessary essentials. Once we were sound, we supported others by following all SOPs. The forceful pandemic taught so many life lessons and a sense of being much humble and kind.

Overall, this inevitable changed the whole perspective and gamut of living.

Tell us about you, your career, how you founded ‘The Virtual Assist’.

Amit Mozar: I am a Media and Entertainment professional with 15+ years of experience and knowledge in various essential verticals of Animation, VFX, Educational operations, Editorial, Business, and Integrated Social Media Marketing. I worked with various leading studios and training institutes.

My expertise ranges from being an artist, trainer, writer, and executing various management functions. I believe in ‘Constant Learning’. During my teaching period, I also worked as a corporate trainer and official demo artist for leading Visual Effects software – Blackmagic Design Fusion.

Some of my major credentials as a VFX artist (in-studio and freelance) include Paramount Pictures, Platinum Dunes (Michael Bay), Rainbow Pvt. Ltd., Grim Animation Studio, Eros International, Sahara One, Devgan Films, Rajshri Productions, Google’s Global Business Group (GBG), Tailored Media, Coca-Cola, Fame Adlabs, Hurix Systems, TCS, P2H Solutions Pvt. Ltd., BBC, 9XM, VH1-M TV, Sahara One, NDTV, Activision and WMS Interactive.

With all this practical exposure, I took an unconventional way and started my journey of being a Blogger in 2013. I encapsulated my online business venture by the name of ‘The Virtual Assist’. To make it authentic and stand apart in the peer competition, I made it an officially registered brand (®) with the Government of India’s Trade Marks Act in 2018.

I follow the Google compliant policy of the safe and trusted website. The blog’s 70% to 80% traffic comes from Google Search.

This online portal is the cultivation of my years of experience and knowledge. The goal is to keep the user abreast with the latest trends and future visions. It is served in various ways – Mozar’s Notes (series of analytical writings and learning, focusing in the multiple niche areas of Animation and VFX), latest job updates, Indian and International studio listings, webinars, Artist Inspiration Series, technical interviews, latest mergers & acquisitions, online contests, seminars, and events.

To talk about the international accolade, it is featured in ‘Top 60 VFX Blogs, Websites & Influencers in 2021’ by Feedspot. The blog stands on:

– 17th position, Worldwide

– 1st position, India

The blog is also featured as a valuable resource for the ‘Best Overseas Locations for Animation Internships: India’ article on the Animation Career Review website.

Started as a niche segment, now it had widened to an array of Media & Entertainment industries, Business, Digital Marketing, SEO, Technology, AR & VR, Finance, News and other related.

What is the USP of ‘The Virtual Assist’?

Amit Mozar: The core focus is and will always be ‘free knowledge to everyone.’ There is a thin red line between ‘information’ and ‘knowledge’.

Information is scattered everywhere in bits and pieces. The loose ends don’t reveal the complete picture. Things get jumbled up, and the outcome is mere titbits.

Knowledge, on the other hand, is the Silver Bullet. The approach is unambiguous with a specific goal and its completion. It is easily accessible, beneficial, and geographical independent.

I share knowledge with everyone through explicit content, and that’s how the blog succeeded – steadily and strongly. As mentioned earlier, now we are expanding in multiple sectors. Rather than ‘trending topics, we focus on ‘evergreen content.’ It holds much more value rather than fizzling out topics. Gradually, we have built our own library of multiple genres.

Your final thoughts?

Amit Mozar: Only two words: Persistence and Passion.

There had been many rough patches during this endeavour. I self-learned Blogging, including content writing, executing on-page and off-page SEO, creatives, marketing, Google Analytics and its supporting tools, optimization and many more…Many of the blog posts are written on mobile during the daily commute time.

But, in the end, all is worth it if you love it. The key is never to give up. You must get a reward for all your pain and thrust.

You need to be your own Batman.
