The Pandemic will Not Break Us, Says Anton Glumakov of UkrModa

Anton Glumakov of UkrModa tells us about his online clothing store and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Anton Glumakov: At the moment, my family is doing well if we are talking about health. We have already had coronavirus in a mild form, and thank God.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded UkrModa.
Anton Glumakov: I founded the company in 2012. it turned out that I lost my stable and reliable job. I had two newborn children and a wife on maternity leave. I had no choice how to start saving the situation. I decided to open my own business. The first six months, the company did not bring anything, and I was in complete despair. I didn’t know what to do, and I lost my heart. But later, things began to improve, and sales began to grow.
How does UkrModa innovate?
Anton Glumakov: It is very difficult for us to introduce innovations, but we try to do it to the best of our ability. When budgets appear, we try to introduce them. The quarantine has greatly affected the company and the Ukrainian business in general.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Anton Glumakov: Of course, we have reduced all costs as much as possible, optimized all possible processes, changed logistics, changed marketing strategies, and became more flexible and customer-oriented. But it costs us a lot of effort. The losses are very large, and we are forced to do this so that the company survives.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Anton Glumakov: We face tough choices every day. And we really take a lesson from this situation. We are becoming stronger and more adaptable to a complex market. We began to think differently. We revised the offer for clients – we made it more attractive.
What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis?
Anton Glumakov: Unfortunately, the software has not been updated. There is no possibility. But we changed the strategy and changed the offer for more customer interest. We also went to the new social network, tiktok, which became an additional traffic channel.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Anton Glumakov: Our competitors are the same entrepreneurs as we are with the same problems. We will fight for our clients, look for new opportunities, adapt to new market conditions, look for new solutions for a more secure service. And most importantly, we will help people choose the best quality product for them so that the buyer is happy with the purchase. The inner state of the client is important for us, the state of happiness from touching us. We all really need unity, understanding, and support. No matter how hard it is for business, it owes people. This is the only way to defeat the pandemic!
Your final thoughts?
Anton Glumakov: My final thoughts are: don’t stop when you’re tired, stop when you’re done. All that is needed for the victory of evil is that good people do nothing.
