First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Arthur Sidorenko: We are now fine, thanks. Finally, I adapted to this “everything within the home” situation. One thing that I miss most of all is traveling. I hope to make up for the lost time next year.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Ester Digital
Arthur Sidorenko: I started my career as a back-end developer and was always working to improve my skills in this area. In 2015 together with my friends, I started a small Estonian-based start-up. It has now grown into an Ester Digital web design and development agency with offices in 4 countries and clients worldwide. And it is only the beginning. Together with my business partners and the Ester team, we are working on strengthening our market positions and providing our clients with A-class services.
How does Ester Digital innovate?
Arthur Sidorenko: We are extremely curious and hungry for new experiences. We are keeping an eye on the latest technologies, and it is our pleasure to implement them in our projects. Our main aim is to provide clients with the most effective, relevant, and easy-to-use solutions that will help them benefit and grow their business. And innovative technologies help us a lot to achieve this goal. Beyond that, we put special attention to our team’s knowledge and skills, and we invest a lot to help our employees grow their experience.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Arthur Sidorenko: As we are working in four different countries, it was quite a common situation for us to work remotely and communicate via Slack. However, the pandemic was (and still is) stressful and unusual for each of us.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Arthur Sidorenko: We are still at the very beginning of the Ester Digital history, and our team is quite small. In the COVID period, it works for our favor. There are no extra members in our team, so no difficult choices were made.
How do you deal with stress and anxiety, how do you project yourself and Ester Digital in the future?
Arthur Sidorenko: I do not believe in stress and anxiety. If you experience any – just work. I think that the less free time you have, the lower the likelihood of being anxious. So my recipe is simple: stop thinking about the sense of life and start doing something.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Arthur Sidorenko: We are proud of our team. It is our main competitive advantage, and we keep working to turn Ester Digital into the perfect company to work in and grow together.
Your final thoughts?
Arthur Sidorenko: The message that I want to share with every entrepreneur and co-founder is that your team is all you have. So respect your colleagues and invest in your mutual development and growth. And one more thing – don’t be afraid of failures. It is absolutely normal to have some. But remember to stand up and move forward. You are the only person who can make your dreams come true, so there are no reasons to give up.
