Superb Quality Custom Titanium Bicycles

Roberto Aznar Neira of Nua Bikes tells us about a titanium bicycle that’s custom-made for personal needs, versatile, hi-tech, and long-lasting.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Roberto Aznar Neira: We are fine, thanks! I got the virus in October 2020, but the symptoms were mild, so some insolation days were enough.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Nua Bikes.
Roberto Aznar Neira: I was working as a mechanical engineer, designing complex industrial machines for about 15 years, when the old dream of designing and building bikes came back to me, so I decided to quit my well-paid and secure job to start Nua Bikes, without any knowledge of how to run a business.
How does Nua Bikes innovate?
Roberto Aznar Neira: Our bikes are innovative by themselves since they equip alternative technologies and materials that are very different from what the mainstream market offers. We also try to innovate in the way we offer our product, directly to the end customer, and in all our internal processes.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Roberto Aznar Neira: The bicycle market is one of the few that is benefiting from the Covid, since more and more people choose the bike to commute (avoiding public transport), sport (avoiding closed gyms), or simply for fun.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Roberto Aznar Neira: We are a small and very flexible team, so we managed to handle the situation very well, at least internally. We have only problems with supplies of certain materials and components, as delays have become normal.
What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis?
Roberto Aznar Neira: Common sense and calm. The solution is always inside, not outside.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Roberto Aznar Neira: There are many brands of small bikes, more and more, so the competition is high, but luckily our product is in a niche market that distinguishes us quite a bit from the mass. Still, we will continue our organic growth, and we have exciting plans for the near future. Distinguishing ourselves from the rest with a quality, innovative and long-lasting product is our core as a business.
Your final thoughts?
Roberto Aznar Neira: Classifying a situation as “bad” does nothing good. What is is what is. Each experience we live brings a unique learning, so it is a gift.
