First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Bernat Guitart: Everyone is ok, luckily. My family and AppFutura’s team are all doing well.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded AppFutura
Bernat Guitart: I founded AppFutura to connect developers and clients worldwide. I realized there was a need for this service during a Mobile World Congress in Barcelona a few years back.
How does AppFutura innovate?
Bernat Guitart: AppFutura is constantly looking for new techniques to improve our SEO, so we receive lots of IT projects (mostly app development projects).
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Bernat Guitart: At the beginning of the pandemic, we noticed the traffic on our website lowered a bit, but after just one month, clients from around the world came back stronger than ever and the project posting number increased easily. COVID-19 has been actually good for the app, and web developers as lots of clients have decided to outsource their IT projects to foreign countries as it is cheaper for them and since they can’t have face to face meetings, they prefer to save some money.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Bernat Guitart: We haven’t changed anything more than the fact that we all work from home now.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Bernat Guitart: As mentioned before, our SEO strategy is the base for our success. We are among the top websites for outsourcing app and web development projects worldwide when you go to Google and look for app and web development companies.
Your final thoughts
Bernat Guitart: Internet companies are key to get over COVID-19. We must offer clients and consumers of all kinds all the solutions they need so they can keep the rules of their own country. To save the economy, the internet is one of the basics.
