We talked to Bob Stankosh, CRO at System73 about one platform providing a complete end-to-end content delivery solution and here is what he said about it.

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?

Bob Stankosh: We are well, all things considering. Thank you for asking. The situation has forced everyone to focus on what is important in life: family, health and work. As for System73, we are seeing great interest in our solutions around the globe and are enthusiastically pursuing growth. As you probably know, much of our business is driven by streaming video. Delivery and viewing of streaming video has only increased during the pandemic

Tell us about you, your career, how you joined System73.

Bob Stankosh: I’ve been in the content delivery and video streaming industry for over 20 years now. I joined System73 because the company is on a strong growth trajectory with a committed team pushing it forward. I was impressed by the investor’s vision and philosophy when it comes to global content delivery and was convinced that the many challenges the industry is facing are being addressed – and solved – by System73.

How does System73 innovate?

Bob Stankosh: We have a superior team of developers in many corners of the world. We look at innovation through disciplines such as mathematics. For example, with the continuous expansion of the Internet, congestion is becoming an ever-increasing problem. To date, conventional thinking says that we need to solve congestion through greater hardware investment.

However, we conceived and patented a mathematical/software solution that collects better data along with the entire network. This collection of data enables System73 to make quicker, more proactive decisions to deliver content, which in turns, enhances Quality of Experience while utilizing less hardware. Employing Artificial Intelligence to forecast congestion, coupled with multivariate optimization, we are able to structure an optimized topology overlay to the internet that significantly reduces internet congestion by more efficiently utilizing existing network capacity.

How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business and how are you coping?

Bob Stankosh: We are of course on the same boat as most growth companies. It’s hard. However, we take solace from the fact that creating a successful company is always hard, with or without coronavirus. We simply try to focus on building great products, while of course, being cognizant of the challenges the pandemic has created. Luckily, many of us worked remotely even before the virus, and our team of professionals have been able to continue working and innovating, even with the current pandemic-driven constraints.

Did you have to make difficult choices and what are the lessons learned?

Bob Stankosh: Life is full of difficult choices. Every decision we make as a company is weighed carefully against all available variables. We learn lessons from mistakes and successes, but try to apply a mathematical and scientific approach to problem-solving.

How do you deal with stress and anxiety?

Bob Stankosh: I try to exercise every day. I also have been teaching my wife how to play chess.
