We talked to Bodhi Vette of Present.me about the next generation digital resume and here is what he said about it.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Bodhi Vette: Good thanks, we are pretty sheltered down here in the central north island of NZ, Lake Taupo.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Present.me.
Bodhi Vette: Present.me is an off-shoot solution for another product/platform we are about to launch called Road Ninja. We lease truck drivers to the transport industry here in NZ. Started off leasing tour bus drivers 8 years ago. Had planned to move into trucks with our app build starting a couple of years ago but had to pivot early due to Covid.
How does Present.me innovate?
Bodhi Vette: we create solutions for the issues we encounter.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Bodhi Vette: Yes redundancy for my staff was very difficult and is not something I wish on anyone. Being transparent about the books and the business’s financial situation is good as it keeps everyone aware, and they can appreciate the difficulties and stress you take on as an employer.
What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis?
Bodhi Vette: Built a bespoke software platform but started prior to the crisis. HubSpot for the CRM and getting more efficient at marketing myself.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Bodhi Vette: Few, but none we worry about. I always ignore and just do what I think is best, and that keeps us ahead.
Your final thoughts?
Bodhi Vette: Spread your eggs in different baskets or hedge your bets. Nothing is certain, so stay dynamic.
