Bohuslava Zhyvko, Head of Marketing at Exoft tells us how they build robust web and mobile solutions to help organizations elevate efficiency.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Bohuslava Zhyvko: In the beginning, I was happy about all the remote work and had plenty of time to work on constantly postponed things… Now is a year after the pandemic began, and sometimes you have a feeling that this will last forever: no traveling, less networking, no more conferences.. you know. Local tourism and Clubhouse is a good alternative, but it can’t be a substitute.
Tell us about you, your career, how you joined Exoft.
Bohuslava Zhyvko: I joined this company at the end of 2018. Previously, I worked in startups and marketing agencies all over the globe. 80% of my clients and employers are tech and no wonder why I joined this team of great software engineers.
How does Exoft innovate?
Bohuslava Zhyvko: Mostly, we work with startups and enterprises operating in logistics, healthcare, energy and fintech. However, due to the pandemic, the number of healthcare projects have significantly increased, especially on telehealth and telemedicine.
How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?
Bohuslava Zhyvko: Our competitors struggled with staff and salary reduction. Luckily for us, everything runs smoothly, the number of projects has constantly been increasing with the size of our team.
Did you have to make difficult choices regarding human resources, and what are the lessons learned?
Bohuslava Zhyvko: Not every person is comfortable with remote work. Somebody should be more controlled; others need an office-only plan, because of kids, for example. We try to be flexible and give every employee what they want and need.
How did your customer relationship management evolve? Do you use any specific tools to be efficient?
Bohuslava Zhyvko: I think it’s a basic set of tools for every business. However, as we work with projects starting from 10k$, it requires a personal approach, which we implement from the very beginning.
Did you benefit from any government grants, and did that help keep your business afloat?
Bohuslava Zhyvko: It’s vice versa. We often support governments with custom software development, tech consulting etc.
Your final thoughts?
Bohuslava Zhyvko: I think COVID-19 shows every business its weaknesses and teaches optimization. Entities were forced to become digital, fully remote. We understood what is important and how to spend less time on unnecessary things.
