Charlie Wang, the Founder of OpticiansClub.com tells us about its optical products and the impact of Covid-19.

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?

Charlie Wang: Thank you for asking. We are located in a small city in the southeast part of China, a city with a 3.3 million population while contributing over 53% products of optical products. Only 9 people have been infected with COVID-19 since it was started, and now we have Zero cases for 11 months. So we are pretty safe here.

Tell us about you, your career, how you founded OpticiansClub.com.

Charlie Wang: I used to work in one of the biggest lens manufactory companies in China for 12 years.

It started with 5 people, and now, it is sitting at the same table with a world-leading optical company, like Carl Zeiss and Rodenstock.

I am growing with the company and experiencing the golden decade for China becoming the World Factory since it became a WTO member in 2001.

It boosts our company and opens a new world to me.

Besides getting knowledge of lens technology, I am always fascinated by the eyewear fashion industry, which is how OpticiansClub.com was established in 2015.

How does OpticiansClub.com innovate?

Charlie Wang: OpticiansClub.com partners with the world’s leading Chinese eyeglasses manufacturers.

We are dedicated to providing excellent products and services for individual optometrists and opticians throughout the globe.

With over 10 years of overseas marketing experience, we have a firm grasp of the latest eyewear fashion trends and market needs.

That knowledge and expertise are apparent in our up-to-date, fashionable, and cost-savings eyeglass online inventory.

How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?

Charlie Wang: Due to the city lockdown executed by the government, a lot of customers start to search for suppliers on the internet.

Fortunately, we caught this opportunity and increased our business value by 116% compared to last year.

What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis?

Charlie Wang: We integrated a lot of online techs, like Salesforce, to improve our internal CRM system, and we use SAAS to create a website for our customers and free them from complex software and hardware management, and we call it FOMO project.

Your final thoughts?

Charlie Wang: Although we could easily set up a B2C website bypassing and undercutting traditional stores, we are committed to providing eyewear frames directly to independent offline optometry stores.

We believe that patients need expert vision care from professionals before purchasing the perfect eyeglasses. Regardless of how amazing B2C websites may be, they are nothing more than cold HTML code. Only ECP can provide the personal care your patients need to determine the right eyeglasses for their vision.
