First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?

Colin Wiebe: Doing well. Keeping our hands clean.

Tell us about you, your career, how you joined Sessionwire.

Colin Wiebe: I joined Sessionwire as CEO after investing in it. I am a musician and was using the software. Sessionwire is software built by musicians for musicians to allow collaboration and remote audio recording from anywhere in the world. Think Zoom for musicians only with high-quality, peer-to-peer audio streaming.

How does Sessionwire innovate?

Colin Wiebe: We listen to our customers and use the product ourselves, so we understand what to focus on building. We bring a solution for engineers, producers, musicians, and teachers to connect and record remotely.

How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?

Colin Wiebe: The Coronavirus has been good for this business as we now don’t need to educate the population of Sessionwire’s use and benefit. We get emails from studio engineers thanking us for saving their businesses.

Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?

Colin Wiebe: The biggest lesson learned is that everyone has had to adjust their workflows, and we find ways to make things work.

How do you deal with stress and anxiety?

Colin Wiebe: Deep breathing, meditation and maybe some wine on the weekends.

Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?

Colin Wiebe: Because we are an actual platform with a social community, we don’t really have direct competitors, plus we have video-conferencing and dual-streaming, studio-quality audio which makes Sessionwire a complete solution.

Your final thoughts?

Colin Wiebe: Musicians have been hit extremely hard by the pandemic, no travel, no gigs, loss of income, fans with less to spend and they are searching for ways to connect virtually. They need a way to generate income from their music remotely. Now with Sessionwire they can!

Sessionwire is fast becoming the platform of choice for professional producers and musicians around the world. We have close to 5000 members and growing steadily. The growth has magically come organically with no advertising to-date.

Grammy award-winning producers in New York, LA and Nashville have already adapted and re-tooled their studios for Sessionwire remote production. Industry giants that work with Justin Bieber, Eric Clapton, Santana, Chicago, Toto, Janet Jackson, Maria Carey, Keith Urban, Shawn Mendes, Vince Gill, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, and other big names across the music spectrum are raving about the quality of the sound and the return of the human connection that has been missing for so long.

Long after the pandemic has gone, Sessionwire will remain an indispensable creative tool for extending reach, saving time, and cutting costs for music makers everywhere.
