David Vyskočil, CEO & Founder of Samba.ai tells us how to create thousands of meaningful, personalized experiences in minutes.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
David Vyskočil: Thank you for asking. Fortunately, I had almost asymptomatic Covid progression, and my family is also safe now. They are living outside the crowded city, and I believe they will be shortly vaccinated.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Samba.ai.
David Vyskočil: I founded the company seven years ago with two great data scientists. As a business consultant for almost a decade, I had been working with various technologies. I realized the potential of artificial intelligence when applied to manual marketing activities such as emailing or PPC campaigns. There is nothing like AI when it comes to automation and data. Since then, my vision has been to build a ground-breaking AI tool for marketers, which will make their daily tasks easy and fast.
How does Samba.ai innovate?
David Vyskočil: Innovation is our nature. If we don’t innovate, we are obsolete in a minute, especially in the marketing technology industry, where the competition is well-funded and technologically advanced. Our strategy is to be different. That is why we chose the most demanding part of AI in marketing, which is campaign automation. Samba.ai analyses customer and campaign performance data and suggests optimizations or new campaign opportunities.
How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business, and how are you coping?
David Vyskočil: Luckily, we are part of the digital economy, which recorded growth due to coronavirus pandemic. So, the effects were mostly positive in terms of business. But of course, negative in terms of anything else.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
David Vyskočil: Again, we were lucky not to be forced to make many difficult choices due to covid-19.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
David Vyskočil: There are, of course, many big guys on the market, such as Salesforce, Hubspot, or Marketo, which we cannot really compete with. So we focus mostly on SMB and small e-commerce businesses, where we can bring real added value by automating analytics and performance campaigns for marketing teams with limited headcounts.
