Ergonized – Remote in Vogue

Dmitriy Ogol of Ergonized tells us about helping companies automate business processes and implement digital transformation leveraging Salesforce.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Dmitriy Ogol: I’m very happy to say that the COVID-19 pandemic didn’t affect our family that much. Our social life was influenced, but it’s normal to have some boundaries and restrictions if we want to deal with the virus. We try to be at home as much as possible.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Ergonized.
Dmitriy Ogol: We founded our company with friends 15 years ago as we were web developers. So we decided to start a business focused on web development after we switched to the implementation of CRM systems such as Salesforce.
How does Ergonized innovate?
Dmitriy Ogol: During the pandemic, most of the companies innovated by creating internal remote work processes, implementing tools. For us, the lockdown start wasn’t an innovation trigger – we always offer our employees a choice: visit the office or work remotely. More than 70% of them love being remote, and it is not only because of the pandemic – they feel better to work from home, save time and stay productive, so we weren’t facing some innovations when the lockdown started.
How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?
Dmitriy Ogol: When the pandemic started, the world was shocked. Nobody was sure what would happen tomorrow, and it was hard to plan even for a quarter. So, a lot of companies decided to accumulate their expenses. That’s why we had a decrease for around 8 months of 2020, but starting from October, the demand for developers was back in vogue, as companies understood how to float through the pandemic.
Did you have to make difficult choices regarding human resources, and what are the lessons learned?
Dmitriy Ogol: For sure, we had to make hard decisions when the pandemic started. I think each business had to. But as we see now, not all the decreases are leading us towards crisis.
How did your customer relationship management evolve? Do you use any specific tools to be efficient?
Dmitriy Ogol: We decided to deepen our relationships with clients and widen our communication. As well, it pays off – good communication helps reach their business goals with minimal time spent.
Did you benefit from any government grants, and did that help keep your business afloat?
Dmitriy Ogol: Unfortunately, we are going through the pandemic by ourselves.
Your final thoughts?
Dmitriy Ogol: The hiring market priorities are now turned upside down. Remote will be the main priority, active social life in the office will be a legend. Each employee will want to work remotely, and businesses should be oriented for remote as the main direction.
