We talked to Don Nguyen about how Aerofiler is a contract checkup that will help people identify areas for streamlining their contracting process and this is what he had to say about it.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Don Nguyen: We’re keeping in good health, and thank you for asking.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Aerofiler?
Don Nguyen: I began my career in technology and then pivoted to law to assist my family with a legal dispute. I completed my JD and became a lawyer, where I found that the contracting process was frustrating. There weren’t any solutions to solve the problem I faced; therefore, I decided to co-found Aerofiler.
How does Aerofiler innovate?
Don Nguyen: Lawyers have a lot of technology available, but often it is complicated to use, and this leads to poor adoption. We innovate by providing technology with enterprise-grade power and consumer-grade simplicity. For example, training our AI is as easy as entering data into an Excel spreadsheet.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Don Nguyen: Everyone has been affected by the pandemic, but we’re thankful that there’s still demand our product.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Don Nguyen: We made the difficult choice to continue to focus on the growth of our product and customer base, even though the “safe” option would have been to cut back and standstill.
How do you deal with stress and anxiety? How do you project yourself and Aerofiler in the future?
Don Nguyen: I don’t stress about the things that I can’t control. Instead, I focus on making correct decisions given the information available at the time. In the future, we see contracts as a core system of record for every company and Aerofiler as one of the leading providers in that space.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Don Nguyen: We compete against vendors such as ContractSafe and ContractWorks. We stay in the game with a relentless focus on the customer. They look to us to solve certain problems, and we bring our best effort each time.
