First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?

Dr. Edward Pultar: We’re ok. Times are challenging for everyone around the world right now. We’re doing the best we can with what we have.

Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Tools.Valarm.net.

Dr. Edward Pultar: I studied and taught at universities around the world on the topics of geography, technology, and Geographic Information Science and Systems, a.k.a., GIS. My brother Lorenzo and I have passed our 10th year since we started Tools.Valarm.net for effectively monitoring environmental sensors like water. Being a family-based company, we grew one customer at a time and discovered our sweet spots where industries needed the unique remote monitoring solutions provided by Tools.Valarm.net, like flood warning systems, monitoring water levels, wells, water quality, flow meters, and more Industrial IoT applications.

How does Tools.Valarm.net innovate?

Dr. Edward Pultar: We innovate by listening to and working with our customers.

Our customers know their specific needs better than anyone else. Working hand in hand with our customers, in the field, office, or anywhere else, we’re constantly gathering customer requirements and improving our software Tools.Valarm.net.

How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?

Dr. Edward Pultar: Businesses are looking for more automated solutions that support social distancing, like monitoring water levels with Industrial IoT sensors, so people don’t need to expose themselves in the field any more than necessary since Tools.Valarm.net automatically monitors sensors remotely.

Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?

Dr. Edward Pultar: We’ve upgraded our core cloud servers and databases. We’ve also learned ways to be more effective with our time, money, and other resources.

How do you deal with stress and anxiety? How do you project yourself and Tools.Valarm.net in the future?

Dr. Edward Pultar: Daily movement, exercise, meditation, and walking help me stay healthy. I see us continuing to grow and provide even more effective Industrial IoT sensor monitoring systems for our customers in the future.

Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?

Dr. Edward Pultar: They are too many to list. Our customers like working with us because of the personalized attention they receive working with a small, family company like ours.

Your final thoughts?

Dr. Edward Pultar: Thank you for providing this resource and outlet for people to share their thoughts about innovation and technology in the times of the global Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.
