We talked to Dr. Olga Oleinikova of HeyLink.me on how to connect any links and effectively manage your audience and this is what she had to say.

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times? 

Dr. Olga Oleinikova: It’s a challenging year for every company and everyone – on a personal level. At Heylink.me and Persollo we are fortunate that our team of 11 was healthy during the whole year. Our social media tech business helping brands, agencies, and influencers monetize their social media has seen rapid growth, steadily performing75% MoM customer growth. 

Tell us about you, your career, how you founded HeyLink.me

Dr. Olga Oleinikova: The idea to start Persollo and then HeyLink.me as the most powerful tool to monetize my professional career influenced social media as a consumer researcher and social scientist, my passion for tech innovations. For 7+ years, I worked in consumer research, driving consumer insights for big FMCG and Finance brands through TNS Global, Curly Questions, and completed my Ph.D. at the University of Sydney, examining individual life strategies, motivations, and behavioral patterns. 

In 2015 I met my co-founder at a Ted-X talk about innovations. We both shared the same passion for helping people do what they love without any barriers. We created Persollo and later Heylink.me to help brands, agencies, and content creators monetize their social media in the simplest and fastest way possible. Today we are a global team of 11 people with offices in Australia and Ukraine and clients worldwide. It’s gratifying and powerful to see your tech delivering a 300% increase in sales conversions and used by some of the world’s best global brands and agencies like NewBalance, Mindshare, OMD, Australian UGGs original, Playstation, Havas Media, SunglassHut, and others. 

How does HeyLink.me innovate? 

Dr. Olga Oleinikova: We are continually innovating. Being a team of 11 top guns in engineering, UX/UI design, marketing, and analytics, we have an established process of gathering information about our clients’ needs and transforming it into innovative new products and features. Our unique products come from customer insights and the evident problem that needs solving for our clients. Powered by in-house built machine-learning algorithms, Persollo is a SaaS platform that provides AI-powered in-depth analytics and instant checkout technology. Persollo is the first to offer instant checkout technology with analytical social media insights for Instagram, TikTok, and Youtube. 

In 2020 as the pandemic hit the globe, we noticed a growing demand for our instant checkout microsites and have added a link management elegant and straightforward solution on top of it. As a result, we created a slick and beautiful SaaS platform called HeyLink. It is a new way to sell, share content, and monetize social media. Forget multiple URLs, complex websites, conversion killing shopping carts – just one link for everything. Heylink.me has gained 40k customers in only four months and is on a trajectory to grow much faster every month. 

How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?

Dr. Olga Oleinikova: We play in the social media and eCommerce space. Both industries skyrocketed since covid-19. The rise of social media usage during the pandemic and offline retailers’ necessity to move quickly online – put a rocket under our business, and we’ve seen record growth during 2020. We are now expanding our team to support the development and working on a pipeline of further tech innovations to assist in scaling up.

Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?

Dr. Olga Oleinikova: The main lessons learned are staying connected to our customers, taking care, and talking to them every day to spot their challenges and offer a solution. We became much closer with our big brand and agency clients, as we both faced similar challenges.

How do you deal with stress and anxiety? How do you project yourself and HeyLink.me in the future?

Dr. Olga Oleinikova: We have a great team and investors who support each other daily. We regularly discuss challenges, business directions, and plan for the future together. When shared – problems and stress don’t hit hard. And I must say I love stressful situations because I think that is where development comes in. Your personal why is crucial and will keep you going no matter what, and there will be many difficult moments when you might want to give up. But the team and positive personal approach that’s where the simple secret is. 

Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?

Dr. Olga Oleinikova: HeyLink.e and Persollo are platforms that sit between eCommerce and social media markets. Thus we don’t have any direct competitors, as we offer a unique combination of instant checkout technology, analytical social media insights for Instagram, TikTok, Youtube, and link management tech. To stay in the game, we are closely monitoring these two landscapes and are always ahead of the trends and the solutions/features that will be needed by the new growing demands. I must say so far we’ve been very successful in it.

    It’s fantastic seeing a social media site doing well especially during these times. I think that there is a huge opportunity for early adopter social media sites like Dr.Olgas and it will be great to see more and more businesses like this come forward in the coming months and years. I think it’s great how she talks about staying connected with customers as this has been lost from some of the bigger social platforms. Thank you for sharing.
