First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Eduardo Slabocicor Cavalcanti: Thank you, Startup.info! Despite the pandemic, we are all well! Only one member of my family has been infected with COVID-19, but it is fine. We all follow with careful care.
Tell us about yourself, your career, how you founded Bisnis HUB.
Eduardo Slabocicor Cavalcanti: I am a civil engineer by training, businessman, and entrepreneur. For a few years, I worked in the industry. I interned, went, found opportunities, and developed solutions for the market. I am currently in charge of 3 different companies, always aiming to transform the sectors. In 2011 I created the Engineering Blog, the first in Brazil, to inform and bring quality content to students and engineering professionals. In 2012, my first sponsored campaign. Today, 9 years later, we are the main channel of communication and content creation for more than 39 engineering companies all over Brazil. Currently, we have 4 direct collaborators and 31 columnists in our time, that all daily content. We impact and transform people, companies, and businesses. I have given lectures on entrepreneurship and engineering careers in almost every state in the country. We have more than 300 clients in our portfolio, ranging from small companies to multinationals. Although we have a lot of work, I can say that the Engineering Blog, a registered trademark of Bisnis HUB, is my hobby today. I am the CEO at CHB Distribuição de Chemicals and Chemical Bisnis; the first B2B Marketplace focused on the chemical industry in Latin America, which is scheduled for February 2021 and the goal of transforming the chemical industry sector.
How does Bisnis HUB innovate?
Eduardo Slabocicor Cavalcanti: We innovate every day because we believe that innovation transforms. We seek to create solutions to the problems that companies in our sector face.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Eduardo Slabocicor Cavalcanti: The pandemic has greatly accelerated our business. Through Bisnis HUB and the Engineering Blog, we increased the production and dissemination of content, increased our team, and expanded our entire operation. For the chemical sector, the pandemic has also been an excellent opportunity for growth, as we have encouraged the production of raw materials in short supply in the market.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Eduardo Slabocicor Cavalcanti: Difficult decisions are made every day in our business. Sometimes we make the right decision while we make the wrong decision at other times. But the most important thing is that we always have in mind learning from mistakes (and also from successes). We learn daily from our operations.
How do you deal with stress and anxiety?
Eduardo Slabocicor Cavalcanti: I haven’t really managed to equalize that point in my life. I have suffered a lot from stress and anxiety.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Eduardo Slabocicor Cavalcanti: I have small, medium, and large competitors. We do not go head-to-head; instead, we seek to travel in ways not yet explored by them. We serve customers that they are unable to serve. We value excellence in customer service.

Eduardo Slabocicor Cavalcanti: The big secret to success is to believe in you and your dreams and goals, regardless of what happens. We all go through difficulties, but it is by overcoming them that we grow.
