We talked to Eldho Joy, Managing Director at eWoke, a digital creative powerhouse and here is what he said about it.

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?

Eldho Joy: We all doing well the life was a bit tough when it started lockdown in March 2020, but now it seems things getting better

Tell us about you, your career, how you founded eWoke.

Eldho Joy: I studied Engineering in Computer Science and started my career with Adroit, a US-based company as a software developer, and later moved to Samsung, where I worked for almost five years. I Started the company – eWoke Innovative Solutions Pvt Ltd in Kochi – Kerala – India, in 2013 with two employees, and now the company has offices in Oman and Canada with over 25 employees.

How does eWoke innovate?

Eldho Joy: When we found that many companies ignore the fact that they are not using the latest technologies in web development and lack quality, we thought of starting a company that follows the latest technology standards and maintains quality delivery policies.

How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?

Eldho Joy: Not so much. The Digital Marketing division performs double the usual. Development projects are the only affected division for us compared to 2019. The design and development projects are 20 % decreased.

Did you have to make difficult choices regarding human resources, and what are the lessons learned?

Eldho Joy: No, we have not changed any number in human resources. We are going with the same strength as we had in 2019. In 2021 Jan, we added three more resources to the Team.

How did your customer relationship management evolve? Do you use any specific tools to be efficient?

Eldho Joy: We don’t have a custom CRM; we used in house developed Project Management Tools for our project Management

Did you benefit from any government grants, and did that help keep your business afloat?

Eldho Joy: No

Your final thoughts?

Eldho Joy: When the Corona Pandemic broke out, it was a difficult time for the whole world as we lost many lives, but it throws a significant rethinking to everyone to improve the quality of life and rethinking and reinventing the business patterns, etc. I, too, feel the same when the whole world stops; it motivates people to think. I think many learned the lesson and made changes or started in their personal and business lives. And I hope this helps people rethink and reinvent the usual formulas and do better in business and improve quality of life if some other pandemic happens in the future.

People now know the importance of using digital platforms to market and sell their products/services. Before the pandemic, it was tough to convince a customer when something terrible happened, and conventional media stopped or made it difficult to communicate. Digital media will help, but and now people know how it is when they face real-life scenarios. This phenomenon is reflected in our business as the requirement of e-commerce design and development and the Digital marketing projects increased almost double compared to previous years. So now all are forced to become Digital. I suggest everyone should invest in Digital more.
