First of all, how are you and your Family doing in these COVID-19 Times?

Fabian Trinkler: COVID-19 still is a daily news theme in Switzerland, and currently, the cases are rising again. However, we managed the first wave pretty efficiently with a partial lockdown, followed by high discipline. The economic repercussions will be grave, but we are glad that everybody in our firm and our family and friends got through it unharmed.

Tell us about you, your Career, how you founded eCarUp

Fabian Trinkler: I always liked to initiate and do things; that’s how I joined a very young startup company (smart-me). There, the core team quickly identified an interesting use case in e-mobility with our existing technology, and I took over almost naturally. As we found interested investors and were able to set up eCarUp pretty quickly, the rest is history.

How does eCarUp innovate?

Fabian Trinkler: Constantly :-). Basically, the daily communication between development, sales, product management, and management is key. We emphasize a relaxed work atmosphere so that people are comfortable sharing their insights. We also try to listen to our customers and our partner as much as possible. If we innovate our platforms according to their needs, we cannot go wrong.

How the Coronavirus Pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?

Fabian Trinkler: So far, our sales boosted during the pandemic, we are still small and mostly domestic. Since many of our potential customers worked from a home office for several weeks, they had time to evaluate new solutions. We also tried to make the best of the situation. We quickly set up several Webinars, which grew popular.

Did you have to make Difficult Choices, and what are the Lessons Learned?

Fabian Trinkler: Building a company does never happen without difficulties and hard truths, especially not in the Tech-sector. I guess the key is to stand up one more time than falling down and believe in your product.

How do you deal with Stress and Anxiety? How do you project yourself and eCarUp in the Future?

Fabian Trinkler: Prioritizing is important for me – you have to learn that you cannot do everything and never please every customer/partner. Learn to say no and build a strong team around you, in order to be comfortable sharing responsibility with them. This will take of your daily workload.

Who are your Competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the Game?

Fabian Trinkler: The clean-tech industry is full of new solutions and players – but we are yet to find a company with the same business proposal as us. Our key is to develop all of our products alone and are therefore faster than almost all of our competitors.

Your Final Thoughts

Fabian Trinkler: Stay save out there – and call us if you need a charging station 🙂
