Fred Chein, CEO of ible Technology Inc tells us about wearable air purifiers products.

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?

Fred Chein: We always put “Stay Safe” and “Stay healthy” as the top priority to protect ourselves. This includes personal hygiene protection like wearing a surgical mask and putting on an Airvida, the smallest wearable air purifier to protect ourselves. This is equivalent to wearing an invisible mask to avoid being infected.

Tell us about you, your career, and how you founded ible Technology Inc.

Fred Chein: Before founding ible Technology Inc, headquartered in Taiwan, I served as a COO of a surveillance system company, where I helped with its IPO and led the biggest product team that made up 70% of its revenue. With over 15 years of experience in product planning/ management and a strong passion to design innovative products for health that can benefit all humankind, I founded ible Tech in 2015.

Since “ible” is a young brand and we have always been trying to redefine the usage of “air-purifying”, not just for home use, but to bring nature’s freshness and purity wherever you go with Airvida is the new concept to consumers. We spent a lot of time testing Airvida’s air purifying ability with 3rd parties laboratories, making visible test videos for end-users, & applying government certificates. After 5 years, we launched Airvida, the wearable air purifier series, nowadays widely distributed in 12 countries, with more than 3,000 physical stores.

How does ible Technology Inc innovate?

Fred Chein: ible Tech.’s R&D team gathers plenty of professionals, they are experts in fluid mechanics, machine learning, IC programming, and material mechanics. Our leaders in Research & Development strive to design products that are innovative, effective, practical, and most important of all, answers to users’ needs.

Airvida, the world’s smallest and most powerful wearable air purifier, can make you breathe the clean, purified air in the middle of a bustling city or while waiting for the bus in peak hour traffic. No matter where you are or what elements surround you, from the aftermath of a bushfire, the constant constructions near your home, or the whirlpool of pollen that springtime brings, you can breathe easy with ible’s latest innovation.

How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?

Fred Chein: 2020 definitely was a hard time for the whole world, whereas the crisis turned into our business opportunities. Taking this opportunity, the market demand for health-related products dramatically raised up, including air purify products. We proactively educate the consumer by making an educational video, content to build brand trust, Airvida also passes the Microchem Laboratory test in the US that proves it can reduce 96.31% of virus in the air in 1 minute, which effectively lowers the possibility for users to breath in the virus that causes seasonal flu and common cold. We are confident that would be a good opportunity by educating people on the benefits of having a wearable air purifier as an additional layer of protection to your health when wearing the wearable air purifier along with a surgical mask. After the marketing collaterals were distributed in digital media, we gained lots of business connections to leverage our brand globally this year.

How did your customer relationship management evolve? Do you use any specific tools to be efficient?

Fred Chein: We treasure our customer experience, usually we communicate with our customers using phone calls, Facebook, IG, and Line (communication APP) which are commonly used in Taiwan and we are able to communicate instantly.

Did you benefit from any government grants, and did that help keep your business afloat?

Fred Chein: As a recipient of 2019 & 2020 Symbol of National Quality (SNQ) Epidemic Prevention Category 1st place in Taiwan, Airvida was awarded an “Innovation Awards” at CES in 2020 and recommended by the Taiwan government to list on the UN’s Coronavirus Innovation Map. These awards enhance the brand’s trust against the competitors for the consumer.

Your final thoughts?

Fred Chein:  “Innovating for health” is our core message and mission to do in this year, more innovative products to be launched to enrich the Airvida product series, we are also looking forward to more business opportunities so that leverage our brand.
