Frinny Lee of A.V. Mapping tells us about the demand for online video content during Covid-19.

How does A.V. Mapping innovate?

Frinny Lee: After being in the media industry as a film composer for many years, I noticed there are lots of problems filmmakers and musicians encountered that can be helped by technology. With that thought in mind, I met an A.I. engineer who then realized the whole concept. Once we started market research, it turned out to be much more meaningful than we first anticipated.

How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances? 

Frinny Lee: As investors started to make conservative financial decisions after Covid, it has been a real challenge to get fundraising. On the flip side, Covid brought significant rises in demand for online video content. We see where A.I. technology can help to improve production flow. 

How did your customer relationship management evolve? Do you use any specific tools to be efficient?

Frinny Lee: Online meeting plays a huge role in the maintenance of international connections. In the past year, we have attended more than 10 virtual global events. During these online events, we were able to approach global users and built direct contacts. As for domestic customers, we are lucky enough to be in Taiwan, where physical meetings are still possible.

Did you benefit from any government grants, and did that help keep your business afloat?

Frinny Lee: We have been blessed with opportunities given by the Taiwanese government. It is a great pleasure to have solid support on the way to fulfilling such a new business concept. We have been hearing voices from different sectors telling us how innovative and prospective our product is, which encourages us to stay active in global events and optimize our product despite the negative impact of Covid.

Frinny Lee: During the period of international quarantine, the internet has brought people closer in a distanced world. A.V.
