Giovanni Palma, Owner and Creator behind MDH HOLOGRAM tells us about holographic technology.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Giovanni Palma: Everyone is fine and doing well.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded MDH HOLOGRAM.
Giovanni Palma: I was working in Italy in a family business advertising marketing company, then one day on January 6 of 2011, I had a vision while surfing the web.
Soon after, the adventure started in 2013 where MDH HOLOGRAM was founded.
How does MDH HOLOGRAM innovate?
Giovanni Palma: We created a new system that allows holograms to be visible in daylight and most weather conditions.
How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?
Giovanni Palma: We went down by -85%.
Did you have to make difficult choices regarding human resources and what are the lessons learned?
Giovanni Palma: It has been the most difficult year- as he had to let go quite a few people.
How did your customer relationship management evolve? Do you use any specific tools to be efficient?
Giovanni Palma: Since we are in a creative business and holograms are our world, In this sense, nothing really changed, apart from the fact we never meet in person and use our own tools to communicate, as well as the other means of communications that all of the worlds’ use.
Did you benefit from any government grants, and did that help keep your business afloat?
Giovanni Palma: The em[ploie had a benefit salary paid between 60% to 80% and that kept them alive the company was able to get 10.000 GBP towards rent office only.
Not much, but something nether the less. We like to look at the glass being half full, rather half empty.
Your final thoughts?
Giovanni Palma: Covid-19 must be seen as an opportunity that shows us as humans that we do not like change. But history teaches the human race by throwing these obstacles so that we are able to adapt and survive.
We have to be strong-minded, kind at heart and patient, and cool in the head. Now, the most important issue we have is how to go back to a new normality. That is what we, as business owners, need to focus on.
