Gurshinder Singh, director at Gtech tells us about building digital, interactive, and turnkey solutions through digital transformation.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Gurshinder Singh: These are strange and challenging times. Family and work-life balance, health, education, and life, in general, continue to be affected by life in lockdown.
Although it was stressful managing work during the start of the pandemic, we have now come to terms with the reality. 90% of our staff now work from home in Dubai or their home country.
Tell us about you, your career, and how you founded Gtech.
Gurshinder Singh: We started GTECH 12 years ago. A full-service digital agency based in Dubai. Initially, we started out as a small website development team. However, over time we have evolved into a 360 cross-media solution provider, with more than 30 employees with offices in Dubai, India & the Philippines.
Today, GTECH continues to build digital, interactive, and turnkey solutions to reduce overheads, increase productivity and revenue through digital transformation. Our current focus is on AR/VR/MR and supporting companies with hosting virtual events.
How does Gtech innovate?
Gurshinder Singh: We believe AR/VR/MR will be an interesting medium for communication into the future, once the technology to support the same becomes mainstream. We have been preparing our internal teams for the same.

How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?
Gurshinder Singh: Our clients have seen their budgets reduced or in some cases completely halted their events or operations. At the same time, we have also seen a surge in businesses trying to spend more on digital transformation.
Did you have to make difficult choices regarding human resources and what are the lessons learned?
Gurshinder Singh: We believe employees are the most important part of any successful business. We are proud to say we have managed to reach this far without having to let anyone go. We have also learned to work better remotely and future team members may not be in the same offices or countries as us.
How did your customer relationship management evolve? Do you use any specific tools to be efficient?
Gurshinder Singh: Clients in the region preferred face-to-face meetings, these have now moved to virtual catchups over zoom and teams.

Gurshinder Singh: The COVID pandemic has disrupted many industries and people’s lives. it has also given us a new perspective and platform to manage offices of the future and allowed us to find a better balance in our lives.
