First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Halil Ozdemir: I am very well, and my family is also quite well, thank you. We have been following the official advice during the pandemic times, and this worked for us to protect our and other people’s health. Also, during pandemic times, our workload has been significantly increased since our digital platforms show remarkable scaling up during the pandemic.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded SportivePeople and LookinWell.
Halil Ozdemir: I have started my career as a web developer during my university years, and I have 22 years of experience in web development and Internet Business Operations. During my career, I have worked in versatile industries, and this gives me significant insights into the dynamics of communities’ needs and behaviours while they meet their various demands. When my non-stop innovative ideas and inspirations during my lifetime merge with my career experience in versatile industries and my passion for sports, I have decided to build up SportivePeople and LookinWell platforms.
How does SportivePeople and LookinWell innovate?
Halil Ozdemir: We are constantly collecting information and receiving feedback from Sports and Beauty & Wellness communities to shape our platforms to be the best fit for their target audiences
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Halil Ozdemir: Upon the significant impact of the pandemic on the Sports industry and the Beauty & Wellness Industry, there have been new strategies being developed by the industry member for reaching and serving target audiences and customers in the most effective ways during and after the pandemic period. These strategies are focus on predominantly digitalization of their operations such as reaching customers, booking, sales and customer satisfaction.
SportivePeople and LookinWell business models were created to maximize digitalization and effectiveness of the Sports and Beauty & Wellness industries’ versatile operations. The platforms show significant growth during the pandemic times as many businesses, individuals and professionals are joining SportivePeople.com and LookinWell.com.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Halil Ozdemir: No, we haven’t made any difficult choices since we only focused on Sports and Beauty & Wellness Communities’ demands for our business operations and decisions.
What specific tools, software and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis?
Halil Ozdemir: Again, our key strategy is listening to our target audiences and receiving feedback from them. SportivePeople and LookinWell are constantly evolving to meet latest (and near future) needs and requirements of the Sports and Beauty & Wellness Community in the most effective ways.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Halil Ozdemir: Competitors of SportivePeople and LookinWell are Facebook, Instagram, Amazon and LinkedIn. Compared to its competitors, Our platforms focus solely on their own target community/audiences’ needs and demands and do not present irrelevant content.

Halil Ozdemir: The growth of rate of SportivePeople.com and LookinWell.com are showing us that They are going to be one of the foremost digital platforms within the coming year in the Sports domain (with SportivePeople) and Beauty and Wellness Domain (with LookinWell)
