First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Hamid Mehmood: We’re doing well and taking all the precautionary measures while practicing social distancing. Thank you for asking.
Covid-19 came with different challenges, along with anxiety and stress, as we were not ready for it. We struggled to adjust and successfully coped with the situation. Now we’re focused, adapting to the new changes, and enjoying good family time as well.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded HTML Pro.
Hamid Mehmood: At the time I started HTML Pro, I was urged to start an agency that offers best workplace practices, streamlined processes, and high quality of deliveries and on top – as when I was working under agency owners, I found major gaps which could have been covered by the agency I create. Later, combined with a partner for the venture, based on an ideological connection that derived our vision about HTML Pro. We were going to build an organization where employees’ rights will be the top priority while following the traditional corporate structure.
We recognized that the problem with IT companies is that they are very good at technology, but they lack quality customer services. That is exactly how we wanted to differentiate our company; by providing top-of-line customer support to the customers.
From the first day, we had a vision that we had to hit the top slots, and we were not prepared to be a small town agency that no one knew about. With that vision, we started off the venture, and very quickly (almost in about 6 months), we grew so tremendously that we had to go big and launch it on a larger scale.
How does HTML Pro innovate?
Hamid Mehmood: HTML Pro believes in constant innovation and creativity that leads to efficiency and new ideas. We inculcated an innovative culture for better innovation and creativity to help our employees be the best they can be. At HTML Pro, we offer weekly activities based on different innovation workshops to enhance their skills from organizational to the personal level.
Customers are our cornerstone, so we always keep ourselves up to date with changing market trends. We’re ready to address our customer’s requirements and needs and deliver the digital solution accordingly. How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Hamid Mehmood: The pandemic has come with lots of opportunities and highlighted the need for digital transformation. Almost every industry got a severe hit by a coronavirus, but the eCommerce industry witnessed a significant impact. It has put eCommerce at the forefront in the retail industry.
As the pandemic reshaped our world, more people started buying online instead of going to bricks and mortar stores. It has accelerated the shift away from physical stores to online shopping. Being an eCommerce solution Provider Company, our business boomed and successfully pivoted during the lockdown.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Hamid Mehmood: Not that, Thankfully. But we readjusted our strategies and business model for success in the lockdown economy. The pandemic was an opportunity for us, as where different businesses struggling to survive eCommerce business helped the sinking economies afloat.
We became specific and decided to focus on only one niche – eCommerce. We designed our eCommerce strategies to be more flexible than traditional retail that will provide our customers with better supply chain disruptions. That’s how we turned our tough time into good times.
How do you deal with stress and anxiety, how do you project yourself and HTML Pro in the future?
Hamid Mehmood: The one thing that always helped me cope with stress is “Focus on my goals.” I encourage my team members to bond with each other to create a healthy and pleasant environment. I consider this as my responsibility that people at HTML pro are stress-free. We do online games and events to keep things fun. We give our employees open hours and the break they need for themselves and their families. Because in the end, it’s all because of my team members where we are today.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Hamid Mehmood: They include large technology companies, eCommerce and marketing companies, and digital agencies. HTML Pro is NYC’s Top IT Solutions & Digital Agency. Coronavirus pandemic is a reality, and we need to adapt changes according to the “New Normal.” As the world order has been changed, we need to design our next business strategies accordingly. It has challenged businesses to digitally transform during the pandemic. It has highlighted the need for digital setup for businesses. SMB’s should move towards a digital setup to be more connected.
