Hari Sasi Finline

Hari Sasi of Finline tells us about its automated platform for financial documents.

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?

Hari Sasi: All are healthy and doing well.

Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Finline.

Hari Sasi: I started my career as a sales professional in the IT industry. Slowly I moved to project management and led a strategic business unit (SBU) in the organization. During my career, I found entrepreneurs face difficulty when creating a financial proposal to the bank or investor and are not able to convince them effectively. There are no effective solutions built in the financial domain, so I decided to do some innovation in that area and start Finline.

How does Finline innovate?

Hari Sasi: We help entrepreneurs prepare a detailed financial proposal and viability report without knowing anything about financial jargon. Entrepreneurs can simply answer the questions in the application, and software will process and create the report for the user quickly. Even a 10th grad student can operate this. So this application is very important in India as all the loan proceedings are heavily documented and need a detailed proposal before going for an SME loan.

How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?

Hari Sasi: During the initial time of lockdown, it affected badly but as time flows the business boost to 150% growth than a previous month because of 2 reason

1) Due to the increased digital presence of entrepreneurs, the application is more visible to them

2) Due to the lockdown, the demand for loan/credit is increasing in the SME sector

Did you have to make difficult choices regarding human resources, and what are the lessons learned?

Hari Sasi: No, we supported all our resources during the pandemic. We offered paid leaves to the staff who were affected with covid-19 and also extended advance payment to those who needs.

How did your customer relationship management evolve? Do you use any specific tools to be efficient?

Hari Sasi: We are using an internally created tool for CRM; it is fully automated and captures details from our system and mail

Did you benefit from any government grants, and did that help keep your business afloat?

Hari Sasi: Yes, we received an innovation grant from our state govt incubator (Kerala Startup Mission – KSUM)

Your final thoughts?

Hari Sasi: Finline is evolving into different needs of financial proposals, management apps, etc. We are committed to delivering simple applications to our users, thus democratizing the financial documentation industry to change that sector.
