We talked to Hasnain Ali on how Ezykr.in helps change people’s lives and this is what he had to say.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Hasnain Ali: I’m a futuristic person, and I strongly believe in data, and when this pandemic happened, yes! I was shocked, but then I started to research and found it won’t last more than six months, so I told my family and the entire team not to worry about it will go away within six months. Everything will be okay; that’s the only thing that keeps us motivated and positive. We can see lots of positive news from everywhere that vaccines are almost ready and everything will be fine very soon.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Ezykr.in?
Hasnain Ali: I am the co-founder at Ezykr.in. Professionally I’m in sales & marketing. As everyone knows, in a startup, the co-founders should be an all-rounder to manage everything from marketing to sales to technology, management, etc. We started Ezykr.in with a mission to provide the best quality service with the lowest price as we know times change. The customer will still never refuse three things at a low price, best quality service and fast delivery. When we look at the home service and pest control industry, these three things are missing, and we found that’s the opportunity, and we started Ezykr Home Service In Kolkata. This pandemic struck, and everything shut down, but the positive news is that the market will start functioning well as we predicted. Now we are experiencing very positive responses from our customers.
How Does Ezykr.in Innovate?
Hasnain Ali: We strongly believe in innovations, and we love those people that innovate. We saw many startups were doing very well in our industry. Still, we identified that customers were not happy with their services, pricing, and service expert’s behavior, so we firmly focused on service experts’ training, self-discipline, and course skills. We bring lots of innovative tools that no one is using in our industry as of now. We want our customers not just to feel satisfied with our services, but they should feel proud of taking services from us. We do not believe in customer service; instead, we believe in customer experience.
How the Coronavirus pandemic affected your business, and how are you coping?
Hasnain Ali: Unfortunately, the home service industry depends on the workforce, and this coronavirus has made a significant impact on every industry. No one is untouched, but as the lockdown was lifted, we immediately follow each instruction published by WHO. Like social distancing, wearing masks, regularly using sanitizers, temperature checks, etc. We recovered very well, and our customers put a lot of trust in us, and we kept it because we have to take care of our customers and our service experts and, of course, our internal staff. And I’m more than just happy to say that after august 2020 till now, December 2020, we acknowledge 30% growth every month, and that’s great news for us. We are going to acquire at least 10% of the market share in Kolkata.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and are the lessons learned?
Hasnain Ali: Yes! We have learned a lot from this pandemic, and the most important thing is that the future is for those in or around the internet or online. If you still think that we’re going back to normal, you are making a great mistake because now we are heading toward new normal, which is online, and our organization is working on it always. We have to be prepared for future challenges like coronavirus or a market crash. More importantly, we decided to reduce some of our services and focus on essential services like pest control services, home cleaning services, sanitization services, home appliances repair and ac service & repair, etc. so that we can survive and continue to provide best in class services to our customer and expend our services in other parts of India.
How do you deal with stress and anxiety during this time, and how do you see yourself and Ezykr.in in the future?
Hasnain Ali: As an entrepreneur, anxiety and stress are the most common part of our life, and we’ve trained ourselves to live with that. Still, we need motivations, and as leader of Ezykr. We have to motivate our staff and service experts and be optimistic about the future and opportunities. If you are looking forward to creating something big for the nation, anxiety and stress will come. As a leader, you have to be prepared for that.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Hasnain Ali: There are so many startups, and companies we can say are our competitors, but we have lots of advantages over them. First of all, they focus on so many things and expand their services very fast, which is a great advantage because as you grow fast, you can focus on customers. There we come because we are not focused on expanding very fast; instead, we’re focused on customer experiences and innovations and long term plans; you can beat someone who focuses on money and growth.
Your final thoughts?
Hasnain Ali: Life teaches us a lot, and the most important thing is how we learn and how we react to the lessons, and how fast we move forward in this pandemic. We shut down our services, but we didn’t sleep as we were preparing ourselves and planning for the future and innovation. So think about the long term and build your business around the internet and focus on your customers because they own your company, and never underestimate innovations. Keep your employees happy because they are vital pillars of your organization. Take care of them and love what you do because if you don’t love what you do, it’s effortless to give up.
