Iliya Dolgikh Tells Us how AliDropship is Bringing Up a New Generation of Online Entrepreneurs during the COVID-19

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Ilya Dolgikh: That’s surely been a challenge, but we keep doing fine. Thank you for asking! We welcomed our second child this March, and we are all doing our part to create a safer world for her to grow and thrive in.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded AliDropship.
Ilya Dolgikh: With an educational background in corporate management, I’ve always been interested in large-scale enterprises, their journeys to success, and the masterminds behind their revolutionary development. Now, as I have the pleasure of being a co-founder of the AliDropship project that’s actually aimed at facilitating online businesses, I am honored to be turning my ‘teenage dream’ into reality for thousands of newcomer entrepreneurs across the globe.
How does AliDropship innovate?
Ilya Dolgikh: The most important thing, probably, is that AliDropship solutions were (and are) created in close cooperation with actual online store owners who have a clear picture of the burning needs and typical pain points within the industry. These priceless insights from within and outside our team let us deliver truly practical solutions for simplifying online business management.
And so, the purpose of AliDropship tools is to automate the majority of routine eCommerce tasks and make them easy to complete on autopilot. These include importing products, editing their prices and pages, processing orders, analyzing the store performance, and more!
Essentially, that means that online store owners can flexibly reassign their time and resources and invest more into the aspects that require human interaction and creative input (customer support, social media management, promotional efforts, and more), thus increasing their chances of success. With countless walkthrough guides, how-to manuals, video tutorials, and case studies that we distribute for free, we hope to make eCommerce startups more accessible to internet users worldwide regardless of their own business and IT backgrounds.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Ilya Dolgikh: For countless people, online shopping is now the most accessible (if not the only available) way to provide themselves with the necessary supplies. For businesses, going online is the best solution to survive in the long term. Naturally, it leads to a major shift in the eCommerce industry and, consequently, creates an excessive demand for our products and services.
To deal with it in the most satisfactory way for our audience, we started with enhancing our informational support. Apart from scaling up our Customer Service team and creating more ‘comparison’ materials to summarize and explain our diverse product offering more clearly, we also made beginner-oriented guides and video courses specifically tailored to the newest segment of less informed customers.
Besides, we invested in developing and launching brand new solutions, including region-specific ones, to make our tools more valuable for non-English-speaking communities and lower the industry entry barriers as much as possible.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Ilya Dolgikh: I would say that the most difficult choices are related to expanding the range of AliDropship solutions as we’re committed to offering just the right amount of entrepreneur-oriented options – and not making business owners overwhelmed or confused about the choice.
In our experience, the best strategy here is to focus on content marketing to let our site visitors explore our educational resources with no limits, take their time, and make a well-informed decision that would truly satisfy their business needs.
How do you deal with stress and anxiety? How do you project yourself and AliDropship in the future?
Ilya Dolgikh: I travel whenever possible! Even in total lockdown times, you can always find a secluded place within your local area and enjoy its safety and solitude to give your ideas a proper shape.
And now, one of such ideas that will hopefully define the company’s future is the shift to an even wider segment of the eCommerce industry and broadening the range of business tasks that AliDropship solutions can fulfill without the entrepreneur’s constant participation and control.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Ilya Dolgikh: Platforms like Shopify, BigCommerce, and similar ones were created with the same idea in mind, in fact: to let internet users with any level of industry knowledge and experience start their online businesses.
However, what makes AliDropship different is the 100% business ownership it grants to the users, one-time payment that sets the users free from any recurring fees, and a wider range of solutions and services tailored to diverse customer needs. Whether a client wants us to pick a business niche for them, create a store from scratch with their requirements in mind, or receive a ready advertising strategy tailored to their venture, or get an exact copy of our self-owned successful online store, we are there to deliver!
Your final thoughts?
Ilya Dolgikh: Our team is looking forward to bringing up a new generation of online entrepreneurs – and we will be excited to see you joining, too!
