First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times? 

Irit Barton: We are all healthy and doing well. Thank you for asking.

Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Logo Is Us.

Irit Barton: I am the founder of Logo Is Us – a unique pre-designed logo marketplace. I have 17 years of experience as a graphic designer, specializing in branding and UX UI design. I worked in leading advertising agencies in Tel Aviv. Over a decade ago, I started my first business, a design agency that is still active today. 

Over the years, I created hundreds of logos for clients in a wide range of industries. Many clients have already had a logo, and they were looking to renew it. Some of their logos were made using one of the logo generators or marketplaces available online, usually at the early days of their business, when they could not afford a professional designer.

I realized there is a need for an alternative. Custom logo design by a professional designer is a relatively pricey process for starting businesses. On the other hand, online options offer a cheap product, but they do not provide unique and quality logos. I decided that a creative solution was needed, and so I launched Logo Is Us in 2018 to provide a quality solution for unique logo designs.

How does Logo Is Us innovate? 

Irit Barton: Logo Is Us is an exclusive pre-designed logo marketplace that offers unique handmade logos created by our hand-picked designers. Our inventory contains a wide range of styles and ideas. Each logo is sold once and customized to the customer’s needs.

Designers who sell via the Logo Is Us website are carefully selected and reviewed so that we can be confident regarding their reliability and the originality of their work. One of our advantages is that we make the customization in-house so that our customers and designers are spared the barrier of language, unnecessary communication, inconvenience of time differences, and endless revisions. We ensure excellent service and quick and efficient logo fitting.

How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?

Irit Barton: Fortunately, Covid19 has affected us for the better, business-wise. Many businesses realized they need more digital involvement to survive this period. They increased their digital marketing activity, added online ordering services, and made other changes in their digital assets, leading to significant growth in our field.

Did you have to make difficult choices regarding human resources, and what are the lessons learned?

Irit Barton: We were not required to make personnel changes but rather to get used to working remotely during lockdowns. We had 3 lockdowns here in Israel, and each lasted about a month. The dynamics of the work were different and challenging, but we succeeded.

I’m aware our lockdowns were relatively short in comparison with other countries, yet, after spending this much time at home, going back to work could not be more exciting. There’s no doubt that remote working platforms and technologies have their benefits, but they cannot replace a human connection.

Did you benefit from any government grants, and did that help keep your business afloat?

Irit Barton: Israel compensated businesses that were affected by the coronavirus. Fortunately, our company was not harmed. Since our revenue increased following the growing market during this time, we did not need the government’s support.

Your final thoughts?

Irit Barton: I think that times like these teach us to be more humble, appreciate what we have, and focus more on helping others. At the same time, every crisis creates new challenges that need to be solved, and in a rapidly changing world, quick and creative solutions are required. 

Now, more than ever, the expression “Turning challenges into opportunities” is not a cliché. Talented entrepreneurs are shaping the world, and with great hope, this period will soon pass and leave behind innovation and economic growth.
