Isaac Thomas, Founder, and CEO of VeganNation tells us about a plant-based and sustainable economy.

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?

Isaac Thomas: Praise the good lord, everyone is doing AMAZING!!! Your care and concern is much appreciated and heart-warming!

Tell us about you, your career, how you founded VeganNation.

Isaac Thomas: I was an entrepreneur from the age of 16, and my career spans 17 years of entrepreneurial ventures in real estate and healthcare, where I acquired, developed, consulted, and led visionary projects in the multifamily and senior housing sectors in the United States. In January 2018, I founded VeganNation with the vision of creating the global platform and infrastructure to unite the worldwide plant-based and sustainable economy into a truly global, impactful economic ecosystem.

How does VeganNation innovate?

Isaac Thomas: Firstly, we take user experience very seriously. We think of the user first and work our way backward. We look at the market trends and work to stay ahead of the curve, giving our community the ability to be at the forefront of innovation and development.

How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?

Isaac Thomas: It forced us to pivot our core product and think more seriously about what our community members truly need from us at these uncertain times. We went through a wonderful and magical rebirthing process during the pandemic, where we see the fruits of our labor manifesting daily.

Did you have to make difficult choices regarding human resources, and what are the lessons learned?

Isaac Thomas: Of course. We couldn’t continue paying our employees, and all of them quit. We had serious financial challenges to overcome, but in the end, it was helpful for understanding who and which position is vital for our continuous growth. We also took the strategic decision to cooperate with a premier tech development company in Poland and not hire in-house technologists for the next 24 months. It has allowed us to speed up the development process and set a higher standard for our ecosystem.

How did your customer relationship management evolve? Do you use any specific tools to be efficient?

Isaac Thomas: We had to completely transform how we communicated with our customers and let them know of exciting changes coming. We opened our first TikTok, Discord, Reddit, and Quora accounts and conducted more in-depth discussions with our community.

Did you benefit from any government grants, and did that help keep your business afloat?

Isaac Thomas: I would love to say yes, but the government has been absolutely useless in this regard.

Your final thoughts?

Isaac Thomas: I believe that the plant-based movement is going to be the biggest consumer transformation in history which will unfold in the next decade. I am here to make sure this transformation occurs faster and with the best technological infrastructure to enable such a mega-revolution.
