We talked to Jaskanwar Singh of Audace Labs about offering innovative and effective artificial intelligence solutions, and he had the following to say:-
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Jaskanwar Singh: All good, thanks for asking. Initially, it was a bit of an adjustment for us, just like everyone else, but we’re getting used to it!
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Audace Labs.
Jaskanwar Singh: Very early on, I realized that there was a dearth of tech service providers in the UAE’s business market, so in my second year of college, I teamed up with four friends who’d landed on the same page to found Audace Labs – our goal was to try and fill this vacuum. We slowly and steadily worked to build up our set of clients, and in 2019 we were one of the 7 startups to be chosen out of an applicant pool of 245 teams from 59 countries to work with Emirates Airlines as part of the Dubai Future Accelerators Programme; my team and I developed a one-stop-shop solution App for the use of Emirates cabin crew to enhance their travel experience. Soon after, we worked with Etisalat to design an insurance-on-demand solution for the use of Etisalat Consumers. Since then, I’ve joined on as Chief Technical Officer of Sehteq – one of the biggest insurers in the UAE. I’m happy to say that it’s been a very rapid expansion in growth, and I hope to continue on this upward trajectory Inshallah.
How does Audace Labs innovate?
Jaskanwar Singh: Audace Labs uses AI and block-chain technology to develop tailor-made, nuanced solutions to each client’s specific technical requirement – we constantly adapt to the needs of our customers to help them maximize their growth by embracing digital transformation. My team and I place a lot of importance on working in collaboration with the client in order to understand each level of their requirement, which aides us in constantly coming up with creative and unique solutions to the challenges their business faces.
How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?
Jaskanwar Singh: If anything, the pandemic has transformed businesses into adopting technological solutions to various new demands. This rapid acceleration in requirement has aided us, and we look forward to working on many innovative technological projects in the future.
Did you have to make difficult choices regarding human resources, and what are the lessons learned?
Jaskanwar Singh: We’re very fortunate in this regard – we work with a tight-knit group of like-minded people who have all given their all to ensure our success during these trying times. The salient lesson I’ve learned is that having a good team at your back that believes in the work they’re doing is imperative to a company’s continued growth.
How did your customer relationship management evolve?
Jaskanwar Singh: At Audace, we believe in absolute client satisfaction – maintaining productive relationships with our customers is of utmost importance to us, and we handle all communication between our team and our clients personally and promptly.
I think now more than ever; it’s important to reassure my clients that their technological requirements are being continually addressed and worked on so they can focus on driving their business forward.
Did you benefit from any government grants, and did that help keep your business afloat?
Jaskanwar Singh: No, we did not as such apply for any government grants, however as I mentioned, we won a place in the Dubai Future Accelerators programme, which facilitates collaborations between government entities and the private sector; I’d say that this opportunity has given us a lot of exposure to grow our startup forward.
Your final thoughts?
Jaskanwar Singh: I’d just like to say that these are very trying times where everyone – from the individual to a business, needs to constantly and quickly adapt in response to new demands, but I’m confident that we can face them together as a community and come out stronger on the other side. The main takeaway has been that if we all help each other wherever possible – even in the seemingly littlest of ways – and continue to strive together; it’ll all work out in the end.
