Javier Moreno Gurrea Syncro VR

We talked to Javier Moreno Gurrea of Syncro VR on how to adapt to different ways of working and using all kinds of digital media to communicate and this is what he had to say.

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?

Javier Moreno Gurrea: Fine, thank you for asking. My family and I are safe. We didn’t have the virus, and we hardly went out on the street.

Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Syncro VR.

Javier Moreno Gurrea: I have a degree in business administration. Until my 26 years old, I worked in a tax company. After a trip and many ideas, I joined with Dalmiro Maggioli (co-founder) to create Syncro VR. We build it from scratch.

How does Syncro VR innovate?

Javier Moreno Gurrea: We travel (not in the COVID year) t to see how things are doing around the world. We bring new ideas and work with clients about them.

How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?

Javier Moreno Gurrea: As we work specifically in immersive technologies, many projects that we were working, suddenly become stand by. We had to reduce many costs as we could, we had some help from the government, and we didn’t fire any employee.

Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?

Javier Moreno Gurrea: I think that the difficult choices that we took are ok and we don’t regret them.

How do you deal with stress and anxiety?

Javier Moreno Gurrea: It is not new all the stress and anxiety that runs a business gives you. But I have a very healthy lifestyle. Healthy food and sports are my pillars.

Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?

Javier Moreno Gurrea: We have many competitors, but we are not worried about that. We know that we are doing a good job. Of course, we are attentive to them but not worried.

Your final thoughts?

Javier Moreno Gurrea: For a startup in general, I think the COVID crisis is an ample opportunity. I know about many projects in my country that had space just for the COVID.

We are companies prepared, in general, to adapt very fast, to innovate, to grow.
