First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
John kosturos: My family and friends are doing great. Personally, I have had a chance to spend more time with my family as a result of the office shutdown.
Tell us about you, your career, how you joined RingLead
John kosturos: I have always been entrepreneurial. During my days of building businesses, we always used Salesforce and loved the platform/community. In 2010, our investment group looked for a company that had built a native Salesforce integration. RingLead fit the mold, and we have been riding the massive SFDC wave ever since!
How does RingLead innovate?
John kosturos: It’s all about customer support and feedback. Our customers are some of the most brilliant sales and marketing ops pros on the planet. The way they solve problems with us helps to create an incredibly innovative roadmap. We love listening to our customers!
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
John kosturos: When we were a startup, we were completely remote. Then we brought people together and built an amazing office. We went to the office for a few years, and then corona hit. Just like that, we went remote again and have been amazingly productive. It will be hard to go back again 🙂
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
John kosturos: Absolutely. The most difficult choice we had to make was whether we should make layoffs. We decided to commit to our people, and they committed to us! We all made sacrifices, but sticking with our team is the best decision we have ever made. We all doubled down and worked our way through the hard times. We are definitely going to come out of this pandemic stronger than when we entered. Our team has never been more aligned.
How do you deal with stress and anxiety? How do you project yourself and RingLead in the future?
John kosturos: Working out is my goto. I love playing basketball or getting outside for a hike/run. We have increased the number of internal e-happy hours and all-hands meetings. It’s important, as a virtual company, to keep the team in the know. By communicating as a team more often, our people have a better sense of our wins… which keeps everybody motivated.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
John kosturos: Validity, CloudDingo, Openprise, LeanData, Distribution Engine, Tray.io, Segment, Alteryx
We are innovating so fast because of the legend, Russ Artzt. Russ built an amazing RND department at RingLead and is working overtime to drive our product development. We have built the only data orchestration platform that encompasses: Deduplication, Data Normalization, Data Segmentation, Data Enrichment, Data Validation, and Data Manipulation into a single interface.
We also have a unique approach to protecting data as its being created, instead of cleansing after the fact. We can prevent dirty data entry during list import, web submission, system sync, manual entry, and more. Lastly, our 3rd party data exchange and workflow engine allow users to set up highly sophisticated Lead & Account Scoring and assignment rules. To get the same functionality as RingLead offers, you would need to purchase 4-5 point solutions!
Your final thoughts
John kosturos: Equality is the only option! Change doesn’t happen until those who aren’t affected by the issue begin to care as much as those who are.
