First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?

Jonas Noyon: Everything is fine, and we are healthy. Thanks.

Tell us about you, your career, how you founded prepmymeal.

Jonas Noyon: We founded prepmymeal in 2018. Back then, we often had the problem that it is difficult to maintain a healthy diet when you don’t have a lot of time on your hands. We wanted to create an innovative solution that can be easily integrated into people’s everyday lives.

We recognized that there was no good solution for healthy and functional food conveniently on the market.

So we decided to change that and started to build the number 1 Meal prep delivery platform.

How does prepmymeal innovate?

Jonas Noyon: prepmymeal offers a Germany-wide meal prep delivery service.

Our meals are 100% natural, fresh, and healthy.

You can categorize your meals fittingly to your personal goals like healthy eating, weight loss, or muscle building.

We also offer individual meals that perfectly fit the individual needs of the customer. You can create your own meals out of a big variety of ingredients.

Our meals are durable for 7 days in the fridge and can be heated up quickly when needed. The meals are packed sustainably and are delivered very fast to your door.

The service saves our customers a lot of time and enables them to eat healthy in the most convenient way while reaching their goals.

How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?

Jonas Noyon: In our case, the situation had no bad impact on our business. We were growing very strong this year. In our opinion, the actual situation will change customer behavior also in the long run. Ordering food online will become more common not only in actual times but also in the future. Therefore we also plan to grow very strong the next years, as meal prep delivery is getting more and more attractive.

Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?

Jonas Noyon: When building a startup, you always have to make difficult choices. So that’s nothing new. For other Startups, I would recommend they always have a financial buffer for situations like this and calculate financing rounds not too curtly.

How do you deal with stress and anxiety?

Jonas Noyon: Focus on the most important tasks in the morning and then do other office work like emails and meetings in the afternoon. Clearly plan your day and your week with all your to do’s. Set big goals and then split them into smaller goals. Derive your most important tasks from these goals.

Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?

Jonas Noyon: The common way people used to order food online was through delivery platforms like Lieferando. But we think that the meal prep market will grow even bigger than the ready-to-eat market in the future because it’s a much more convenient way to eat healthily. You don’t even have to wait one hour for the driver delivering your food. You can just heat it up and enjoy your healthy meals within minutes. You can also find all the information about the ingredients and nutrition on the packaging of every meal. With our system, we have a wider delivery reach because we can deliver nationwide and not only in the metropolis.

Your final thoughts?

Jonas Noyon: People are eating at home like never before. This trend is brought on by the pandemic but taking hold for the long run.

The way how and what people eat is changing in the future. With prepmymeal, we offer the perfect solution for that. We see high potential and growth in the next years.
