INNOVATORS VS COVID 19
Luca Boschin: Transparency and Creativity Helps in Difficult Times
We talked to Luca Boschin, founder of VISUA, about leading visual artificial intelligence and this is what he said about it.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Luca Boschin: We were all lucky to be able to work from home. This allowed us to stay safe. Boredom and lockdown stress kicks in sometimes, but then you quickly realize how lucky you are compared to others.
Tell us about you, your career, and how you founded VISUA.
Luca Boschin: I have always been curious and passionate about technology and building things. I was lucky to find an incredible co-founder and team.
How does VISUA innovate?
Luca Boschin: We focus on being transparent and listening to what clients want to achieve. We have fun applying creativity and curiosity in the process.
How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?
Luca Boschin: We did experience some new business delay, thankfully this hasn’t negatively affected our finances.
Did you have to make difficult choices regarding human resources and what are the lessons learned?
Luca Boschin: Unfortunately one of our colleague’s lines of work has been annihilated by the pandemic. Thankfully they quickly found a great alternative opportunity. Something bigger than you can take effect at any time. So keep doing your best and having a good time as much as possible
How did your customer relationship management evolve? Do you use any specific tools to be efficient?
Luca Boschin: We’ve always focused on client relationships. There was a concern in not being able to maintain those relationships in person as we mainly serve Enterprise clients. Though we all quickly adapted to Zoom and Google meet. We do not use any specific tool.
Did you benefit from any government grants, and did that help keep your business afloat?
Luca Boschin: We qualified for some government payroll tax subsidies in the first few months of the pandemic. The subsidies helped to maintain confidence and avoid any cost-cutting in the early days of uncertainty.
Your final thoughts?
Luca Boschin: What a ride this pandemic was! A generational opportunity for many personal and business learnings.
