Lucien Ndabagera of Lund Group and TCHIIN tells us about travelling adventures and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?

Lucien Ndabagera: I’m glad to be healthy with my family and that I was fortunate not to catch the virus.

I’m working and travelling a lot and spending time with my family. I’ve noticed life’s too short, so I spend as much time as I can with them; also with my girlfriend.

Tell us about you, your career, how you founded TCHIIN.

Lucien Ndabagera: I was born in Bujumbura, Burundi. My family and I fled the civil war in 1998 and settled in Rennes in Northwest France. I have always been entrepreneurial. I began launching businesses across different sectors from a young age. My first business when I was 12, I created a mini business in school selling cans of Coca-Cola and candies. I currently own multiple private jet ( Mon Avion ) companies, yacht ( Lund Group ), Events for Formula 1 Grand Prix, and TCHIIN, my new premium social club app.

I joined the TCHIIN project through my friend and business partner Peter Kianička. Together, we found a business opportunity and a gap in the market that we decided to fill. It was important for us to perceive the signals we received during development. We saw the signals as an opportunity to offer the market something new and innovative in this segment.

How does TCHIIN innovate?

Lucien Ndabagera: TCHIIN is an app that consists of an online club that has been created for an exclusive clientele such as celebrities, influencers, HNWIs, UHNWIs, and many other exceptional people. In order to maintain the status of exclusivity in TCHIIN Online Club, TCHIIN has created the app with a capacity of 10,000 clients, to which TCHIIN will direct all attention.

More and more people are seeking refuge in the virtual world, which they perceive as part of their daily lives. TCHIIN, as a global ecosystem that is built on several functions, will bring it all. We are working intensively on new functions. Our goal is to always bring something new and innovative through TCHIIN. Great things await us this year, great milestones.

How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?

Lucien Ndabagera: COVID-19 has been another obstacle.

We had to adjust our restaurant and hotel package to ensure we were following government guidelines.

Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?

Lucien Ndabagera: Yes, originally, the official launch of the app was supposed to be last September 2020 during the Monaco yacht show onboard a 90-meter yacht. We decided to postpone it and improved the technology of our app.

What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis

Lucien Ndabagera: I’m living between Monaco and the northwest of France when I come to see my family, and my business team is based between Slovakia and U.S.A, so our big tools are our iPhones and Computers with a lot of Zoom calls to communicate with each other and also with our business partners and clients worldwide.

Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?

Lucien Ndabagera: We see competition as a tool that moves us forward. It forces us to think more deeply and creatively about the future and business strategies. We stick to the fact that we want to differentiate ourselves and set our own rules, our own ecosystem, our own business model, which should be successful and popular. Thanks to the combination of individual functions and people.

Your final thoughts?

Lucien Ndabagera: TCHIIN app could not come at a better time like this, and the global market needs a change in the way it presents itself. People want to connect with something new and exceptional that will take them away from their ordinary lives. They will want to become part of TCHIIN, as a philosophy of lifestyle. We are currently working very intensively on a new revolutionary function, which we will bring this year. I can compare it to the emergence of social networks themselves, the arrival of smartphones. You have something to look forward to.
