Luna Medina-Wolf is using Helping Moon to offer virtual therapy during the Covid-19 pandemic

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?

Luna Medina-Wolf: We have been in quarantine mode for over a year now we haven’t interacted with other people. Thankfully, our kids are young, so they are okay with this reality. They are glad mommy is working from home, and they spend a lot of Pool time. Thank God for us loving spending time with each other.

Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Helping Moon.

Luna Medina-Wolf: My husband and I are the best team. I couldn’t dream about a better partner. I began my private practice initially, and with time the need for services grew that we decided to hire one therapist. Gradually, with time the need grew more, and we kept hiring people. My husband handles all the admin, CEO stuff, and I handle the clinical things.

How does Helping Moon innovate?

Luna Medina-Wolf: We had to adjust to working from home very quickly due to COVID, and it was an interesting journey. We adapt to new situations all the time. We are attentive to the community’s needs and hire according to the need.

How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?

Luna Medina-Wolf: We had to transition to doing virtual therapy, and this was a learning curve.

Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?

Luna Medina-Wolf: The difficult choice was to decide if to let go of our physical space once the lease was over or keep it. Having to move everything out was a difficult decision, but we are happy we did it because we saved a lot of money.

What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis?

Luna Medina-Wolf: We use telehealth programs.

Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?

Luna Medina-Wolf: There are many competitors in the area. We provide high-quality customer service and always offer free services to the community. I believe that giving back always ends up paying forward.
