Mani Raissdana, CTO and Co-Founder of MITS Management tells us about innovation in the telecommunications industry.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Mani Raissdana: We are fine, none of us have got COVID as we perfectly controlled our environment, both st our homes and in the office, we disinfect our office every day, since we are more than five persons working in the same office, we all have to follow the regulations
Tell us about you, your career, and how you founded MITS Management.
Mani Raissdana: MITS was initially founded in 2008, but we professionally started our ISP (Internet Service Provider) consultancy business in early 2011 by getting a technical certification of major manufacturers in ISP and WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider) market.
How does MITS Management innovate?
Mani Raissdana: We are a full flexible stack IT Support and consultancy company. For such a service, we HAVE TO BE flexible because we have a variety of ISP clients from different regions who are looking for different features and have totally different types of clients and related services.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Mani Raissdana: We’ve tried to handle it, although it has been affected us crucially, due to travel restrictions since most of our ISP/WISP clients are in Africa and we constantly need to travel to Africa, but we tried to increase our client count in Turkey, so we have got many new ISP clients in Turkey during this Pandemic. Also, we are the kings of remote supporters. We generally offer remote support to our clients all over the world, as we already have also some ISP clients in the US and Canada, so remote support is our main job.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Mani Raissdana: Definitely, this was our first time that we had difficulties in fulfilling our responsibilities, we have had to make some tough decisions, as tough as saying goodbye to some few staff due to this new situation, also managing staff and clients was not easy at all, yes we do remote work, but remote management is something else. so other tough decisions were mostly on the management side
What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis?
Mani Raissdana: CRM application is a must, and we are using Vtiger for now to manage ourselves. We are also developing some applications, including HotGate and WISPGate, so the development of Management applications like Jira is the most crucial to use for a company like us, so we have integrated our CRM and Jira, as we are a fully integrated company and we are well using different types of apps to manage our business
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Mani Raissdana: There are some competitors of us, Although I have to declare we are one of the best of them, so they complete to reach our level, we are an international famous ISP and WISP Consultancy firm, our competitors are mostly in the US, but they are also very busy in their own region, so they don’t have enough time to be in our Market, but we are in US market as its a huge market in ISP business, and there are thousands of ISPs in the US who are looking for cheap remote supporters like us.
Your final thoughts?
Mani Raissdana: This Pandemic was the weirdest thing in my life, same as millions of others who had not ever experienced a pandemic like this, but we have learned to deal with it, we have learned to be flexible, change our company rules to be compatible with this new situation, so I would say being flexible is the key of success here, we always have to make a set of new rules, and adapt our self to the new situation, this is what we have perfectly learned.
