Manjunatha KG Kenscio

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?

Manjunatha KG: my family and I are doing well and getting adjusted to the new norms of Covid-19 situation. As we are geographically spread, we are in constant touch with each other.

Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Kenscio.

Manjunatha KG: I was brought up in a middle-class family. Excelling in education and getting a good job were the main goals. I developed a passion for electronics and computers while in school and pursued my education in those fields and excelled. I worked in product development in both electronics and software development companies in both India and the USA for 25 years. When the company I worked for 4 years decided to wind up, I had the option to find another job or do something else. I decided to become an entrepreneur and founded the company in digital marketing software development and services. My ex-colleagues and friends across the world helped me in getting clients and partners, and there was no turning back.

How does Kenscio innovate?

Manjunatha KG: My career over 25 years was always in R&D and developing new products, and this DNA helped to stay ahead in the industry I work. We used the profits to build new innovative products.

How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?

Manjunatha KG: The pandemic has impacted many of our clients in Travel, Entertainment and other verticals and hence they had to reduce their budgets and also ask for a reduction in pricing and extended credit terms from their partners. This has impacted our company as well. We were quick enough to adjust to the situation by reducing our costs, enabling our employees to productively work from home and helping our clients manage the situation. We are managing the situation quite satisfactorily.

Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?

Manjunatha KG: I had to make difficult choices during my Entrepreneurial journey over the past 12 years with co-founders and senior management staff leaving abruptly. My hands-on experience in all areas of the company and solid relationships with my clients and partners helped me to pull through the situation.

How do you deal with stress and anxiety?

Manjunatha KG: I always stay positive and cool. I discuss the stressful situations with my board and get their inputs to handle the situation.

Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?

Manjunatha KG: Our Competitors are both global and local players. We stay in the Industry through our deep expertise in the omnichannel marketing communications field we work with, with the comprehensive set of solutions and services, agility and excellent customer support.

Your final thoughts?

Manjunatha KG: Covid-19 pandemic crisis made us adjust to the new normal, and we believe it will transform of our way of doing business, without impacting our clients.
