We talked to Mark Greedy, CEO and Founder of Destinations-E about the best cruise experiences and here is what he said about it.
First, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Mark Greedy: It has been tough and disappointing times for over 12 months. We began in Feb 2020 with an exciting introduction of 12 new brands, products, and site reimagination to be introduced in March 2020. Well, that did not get too far. All the related material is now in the bottom drawer, waiting for better times ahead.

Tell us bout you, your career, how you founded Destinations-E.
Mark Greedy: Unfortunately, as my wife often says, I bore people with my CV, but when I look at it, it has fortunately been a unique and successful compilation of leadership and some success in all spheres of our luxury travel & luxury business.

How does Destinations-E innovate?
Mark Greedy: I guess we/I have been driven by the premise that the consumers of luxury products and experiences are mostly people of a similar demographic, expectation, and vision. They will want to consider the type of quality product in an environment of style and elegance, without stressful sales harassment.
Destinations-E, our E-Travel Concierge, and I provide our recommendations and make it happen.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Mark Greedy: There is no hiding this CV19, its management worldwide have negatively affected all commercial sectors and people in all countries – possibly except for all Government employees and leaders.
I expect there are many who are unable to cope, and that must be disastrous.
Good Governments have a priority to support their populations.
Some as a priority have supported their leaders followed by their populations – This is wrong.
Some are stretched to care and manage this situation. Unfortunately, so many Government structures have proven to be fractured, under-funded, and inadequate for the current challenge.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Mark Greedy: The simplest but saddest choice was to forget about 2020 and get on with 2021, and this underpinned all further steps and strategies. No time-wasting with what-ifs.
We placed the 2020 luxury travel and product development and vision back in our pocket for when the new Destinations-E can be the success it deserves.
What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis?
Mark Greedy: The primary assets in this position are extreme –
Patience – Positivity – Perseverance – Pragmatism including Acceptance of and Facing Facts –There is no space for delusions or B.S. Plus – Creativity and Drive to get on with those elements that may work in the future using your own slash of color.

That is the Toolbox.
I am sure it also cuts to the chase when there is absolutely no choice. Other than that, my mother always told me to keep my head down, whistle while I worked, and always put a smile on my face. Simple words.
I am sure technology has an important role to play, but in the case of CV19, its current effect is negligible. There are only so many Virtual Conferences, Chef lectures, and Cocktail Making programs one can be bothered with?
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Mark Greedy: There are few competitors, if any, in our Luxury only Eco System of Travel.
In fact, I do not know of any. Maybe I got it wrong?
We can and will stay in the game because while we are extremely Creative and totally B2C market-driven, we are extremely pragmatic when it comes to the fixed costs of operation.
Offices – What for? Permanent Executives – Why? Senior Employees – Why?
The world has available totally skilled and professional specialists in every element of the online travel business. They have no desire or need to be full-time executive employees in expensive office space, working 9 to 5.
Destinations-E, fortunately, outsources to the Best throughout our world, and this has helped it struggle yet survive our situation today.
All that said, in 2021-22, with the expected growth in the reimagined Destinations-E and our forthcoming E-Tail portal, we will be recruiting great people with great minds.
Your final thoughts?
Mark Greedy: The following are my thoughts.
· Destinations-E has, from its foundation, carried, promoted, and sold a limited collective of high-end travel relevant fashion, merchandise, products, and services.
A bit like the Boutique in a luxury resort or hotel.
This always had its challenges; however, with the evolution of technology and can-do fulfillment operations worldwide, we have been enabled to develop such an E-tail portal, and this will be to market in early April with 10 different genres of product and many thousands of curated brands & products for sale and shipment.
Probably worth another chat towards the end of March 2021.
· Another exciting installation within both Destinations-E and our new E-tail portal will be Virtual Reality worldwide travel experiences. Excellence, Entertaining and Experiential – Like the highest quality Movie Trailers, these will enlighten travelers to a world of opportunities awaiting them.
