How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Matt Sweetwood: Since we are an insurance product, the pandemic has not significantly affected us. People still look to protect their most valuable equipment.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Matt Sweetwood: Yes, but the key is to react quickly. Most business mistakes are made from hesitating or inaction. We got out in front of the situation and stayed there.
How do you deal with stress and anxiety? How do you project yourself and Insurious in the future?
Matt Sweetwood: Stress and anxiety are dealt with in 2 meaningful ways:
1. Personally, I keep myself in great physical condition. Physical conditioning and body strength are the foundation for mental and emotional health.
2. Be a leader for your staff. Communicate frequently, and help people understand that worry never helps, and we should only focus on actions that we control and not stress over things we can’t control.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Matt Sweetwood: We have created a product that is the first of it’s kind. There are some homeowner policies and a few loss/damage warranties that have a little overlap with what we offer.
