How are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Mike Maguire: We are all doing well and have remained COVID free.
About you, your career, how you founded Riverside Shutters LTD.
Mike Maguire: I worked for Riverside as a salesman for around 6 years before the opportunity to buy the business presented itself in 2017. Since then, we have ground our business and set up a headquarters in the Cotswolds.
How does Riverside Shutters LTD innovate?
Mike Maguire: We stay at the cutting end of what is available in our industry by constantly monitoring trends and listening to our customers and their needs.
How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your business finances?
Mike Maguire: Whilst COVID-19 has caused many industries to suffer, ours has been one of the few that has thrived! Lockdown has meant many people have turned to home renovations which have seen a huge surge in demand for our products and services.
Did you have to make difficult choices regarding HR, and what are the lessons learned?
Mike Maguire: No, we did not.
How did your customer relationship management evolve?
Mike Maguire: We have taken on additional staff to deal with the increase in demand for enquiries and appointments.
Do you use any specific tools to be efficient?
Mike Maguire: We find Xero a brilliant tool to keep all of our accounts in one place and up to date and link google calendar to all staff members so all can instantly view any updates.
