We talked to Mr. Vineet Bansal of eDominer Technologies Pvt. Ltd on how to manage an online business with industry ready ERP software and this is what he had to say.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Mr. Vineet Bansal: COVID has been an unprecedented event in our lifetime. Life was moving at a lightning-fast pace, and we did not realize we were missing until this event locked us in our homes with family. It was then we had to rethink what matters most and our priorities. I had the most memorable moments with my family during the lockdown. We took all possible precautions and followed authority guidelines. Until now, everyone has been safe and healthy. I wish this gets over quickly, and the world can flourish freely.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded eDominer Technologies Pvt. Ltd
Mr. Vineet Bansal: The inception began in 2005. Back then, the challenge of lack of connectivity and internet service was in abundance. Overcoming these by lease lines and WAN, eDominer started providing useful web-based solutions to select customers. The software rechristened as Expand ERP in 2008, provided offline solutions, where access to the internet was limited. Fifteen years down the line, Expand ERP pioneers in Cloud-based business Applications on Microsoft Azure. It is designed and developed for fast-growing businesses in the manufacturing, retail & export sector. Expand ERP is expanding nationwide, with Bangalore being the registered office and Kolkata being the Development Centre. Other support offices are in Delhi NCR and Mumbai. Our vision is to offer advanced digital technology to mid-sized fast-growing businesses to enhance their growth.
I have developed software for companies like British Petroleum, Germanos, Greece, Alpha Bank, and many more in my previous ventures. With over 15 years of IT and management experience and my team, I have developed EXPAND ERP software for Exporters and Manufacturers to automate processes and manage businesses more efficiently on Cloud. EXPAND ERP was awarded the Best ISV in ERP for Export and Manufacturer category by ITPV, Techplus media.
I have specialized software and completed my masters’ diploma in software engineering through NCC, UK, and achieved various Microsoft professional certifications. I was the entrepreneur of the year 2016 by BCCI.
How does eDominer Technologies Pvt.Ltd innovate?
Mr. Vineet Bansal: We strongly believe that innovation is in our DNA. Over 15 years back, when ERP was slowly entering the country from foreign shores, we had developed our own advanced ERP software for Indian business in India. We had also been one of the forerunners in cloud ERP in the country. With a competent technical team, we are continually innovating for our clients, helping them manage their business processes with ease.
All our innovations drive business excellence. Google Drive integration for data backup, a mobile app for a file attachment, production, QR code, EAN 13 standard barcodes, a digital signature on the invoice are some highlights. During the unprecedented pandemic lockdown, we have empowered all our clients in managing their business online from the safety of their homes with Expand ERP.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Mr. Vineet Bansal: Like all the industries and businesses around the world, it was tough. But with technological prowess, we had been able to cope up with the situation. The safety of our employees is at the core of our endeavors. Fortunately, being the manufacturer of one of the best business process software, it was easy for the entire team to adapt to the new routine work from home. Though it was a long struggle, the entire eDominer team stood together and worked round the clock to serve the clients. With social distancing being the new normal, all our clients had been hugely dependent on our software’s effective functioning to run their business entirely online. We had also been able to get associated with some prestigious new clients during this time. With our office opening up, we are taking every measure and care to ensure our employees’ safety.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Mr. Vineet Bansal: During the pandemic, with multiple challenges thrown randomly, making both ends meet was difficult. Every decision was a tough one. But being a value-driven company, our focus was entrenched in our belief of customer focus and driving growth for all connected. In these challenging times, when many large enterprises were randomly cutting salaries and sacrificing their employees, we had been able to sail through without losing any of our valued teammates. Difficult times are always the best tutor, and this one has also taught us many lessons. But the most important one is the ‘Every setback is a setup for an even greater comeback.’
How do you deal with stress and anxiety?
Mr. Vineet Bansal: The best antidote to stress and anxiety is to immerse yourself entirely in what you love doing. And for me it is sports. I play with various soccer groups in the city and participate in local friendly tournaments between various clubs and resident societies.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Mr. Vineet Bansal: Though it may sound cliche, we believe that we are our most significant competitor. And we continuously strive to better our products and ourselves as a company each day. With so much competition equally from large and small players, it would have been challenging for us to survive and succeed. Continuous innovation, marketplace integration, and technology intelligence are our three-pronged strategy to stay ahead in the game. Our agility to adapt to market conditions and customer demands help us win.
