We talked to Nasim Ahmad, Cofounder & CEO at Facile Consulting about its IT consulting team and here is what he said about it.

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times? 

Nasim Ahmad: My family and I are doing well, thanks. How about you?

The Covid 19 pandemic has put us all in a challenging situation that this generation has never experienced. Initially, the whole world was in a panic, unaware of how to handle it. But now, we know more about this virus and its traits so that we are able to contain it. People are keeping their guards and following the government guidelines; hence, the daily new cases have been declining, and I hope soon enough we will be able to eradicate it.

Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Facile Consulting.

Nasim Ahmad: I am the “Facile Consulting Pvt Ltd” Cofounder and CEO, as well as serves as Director of Software Development. I am a technologist who has held a senior leadership role in Software Services and IT Consulting Company. I led a large software development team and worked as an Offshore Development Head. Further, I have worked with companies and customers like Sapient, CIBER, AFS Technologies, Toyota, TESCO, Xerox, Disney, etc. At present, I work on technologies related to BI, Cloud, IoT & amp; connected, intelligent, and autonomous transportation technologies (connected autonomous vehicles).

How does Facile Consulting innovate? 

Nasim Ahmad: Technology is changing very rapidly, and to sustain itself in such a competitive environment, organizations must keep on upgrading ahead of the changes. As we are an innovation-focused company, we are looking to come out as a total leader in the industry.

Our style of contemporary management practice focuses more on innovation. Hence, we are essentially a leader in many aspects, but we strive to become a complete leader in the industry. We formulate our own core values, which bring the best management capability to the organization.

How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?

Nasim Ahmad: During the initial days, when a sudden lockdown was announced, we faced a lot of challenges to keep our business running. The safe movement of employees who were going to their hometown was the priority. We had very little time to equip all the employees with the necessary things to be able to work from home. Lockdown and working from home for the entire team was a new thing. Managing and monitoring employees working remotely was a challenging task. But with the help of advanced technology and customized applications, we are able to manage the whole process. Our clients too were well aware of the situation and have been very cooperative. Being a software services company, lockdown did affect our business a little bit but not to the extent of other businesses that had to be totally shut down. But there are few things which are of concern, like, hiring and training new employees, conflict management, quality management, infrastructure management, etc., which we are working on.

Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?

Nasim Ahmad: There are a lot of instances where we had to make a difficult choice. The whole world was facing an unprecedented situation due to the pandemic, and so were the businesses. Projects were paused, a few were terminated, and budgets were reduced, etc. There were strict government guidelines for not laying off any employees, but the payout can be reduced within limits. So, salaries were reduced, and few employees were given the option to quit. 

How do you deal with stress and anxiety, how do you project yourself and Facile Consulting in the future?

Nasim Ahmad: Living is nothing but being healthy, both physically and mentally. Stress has become part of everyone’s life nowadays. One has to find their own way to relieve the pressures causing excess stress and anxiety. I keep up my physical health by regular exercise and a balanced diet. I’m finding my way to peace through meditation and little entertainment to keep my mental health in check. Also, on the work front, planning and structuring make work less stressful. Managing stress comes naturally through experience, constantly upgrading yourself and approaching innovatively the problems makes life easier.

One can achieve great heights by learning and improving. I constantly strive hard to be ahead of times and try to make life easier. Our company motto is to make people’s life easier.

Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?

Nasim Ahmad: The classical approach of satisfaction of the customer will always hold good for any business, which forms the organization’s foundation. Trust has to be built on this foundation. But, to stay in the game, one has to stay ahead of time. Through continuous research and an innovative approach, we can produce a great result, making the business competitive enough to be on the top.

Nasim Ahmad: Businesses must be diversified, sustainable, and have a great vision and mission to make life easier. Only a sustainable business can make this place great for living. The government and also the people must focus on creating such a future.
