We talked to Neeraj Gupta on how they raise success graph of Salonist during hard times and here is what he had to say.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Neeraj Gupta: Thank you for asking! We’re all doing well, and I hope you’re also doing great during these tough times. Days spent when the lockdown seems very pacifying, and we’re doing our best to manage everything with high discipline. Everybody in our firm and family got through it unharmed.
We take care of ourselves and other old age family members, following the government authorized rules and regulations. We’re also using this period as an opportunity to learn how we can make ourselves better for the long road of life.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Salonist.
Neeraj Gupta: I started my first business in 2010. Since then, I’ve grown a portfolio of IT-services, SaaS, agency, productized services, and more traditional businesses.
Continuing to work on these portfolios, I realized back in 2015 that salon business owners are facing difficulties regarding managing appointments, staff payroll, staff performance, client management, and other activities. Then, I started a small startup business – Salonist.io. and now, we established a great reputation in the market.
How does Salonist innovate?
Neeraj Gupta: The most innovative quality in my business is how smoothly we run our firm. From the products we create to our roadmap planning methods and customer satisfaction, we maintain a relaxed work environment so that people are satisfied enough in sharing their insights.
We always innovate and implement effective strategies according to our customers’ needs. Our leadership teams are constantly listening to their customers and partners as much as possible and always provide suitable solutions accordingly.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Neeraj Gupta: Salonist success depends on the success of our clients. And yes, our sales increased during the pandemic as we helped many salon entrepreneurs and businesses to manage their business and classes online. The best they learned is how they can provide a hygiene environment to clients. Since many of our potential customers work from a home office, they’re tiring to evaluate new solutions to achieve more sales.
We always stay in contact with our previous and present clients. And we’re also happy to support them in fulfilling their productive needs as much as we can during this tough time.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Neeraj Gupta: No business can achieve success without ups and downs! As soon as COVID hit in March, our clients put their projects for innovations on hold. We were lucky in this sacrifice and achieved success quickly as expected because we were extremely accessible and honest with our team. This encouraged a sense of trust between our employees and helped us to manage the COVID-19 storm as well as possible.
How do you deal with stress and anxiety?
Neeraj Gupta: Usually, I don’t feel stress and anxiety easily because I love to work on a prioritizing basis. We always work in an easy and comfortable environment to maintain stability for my team and partners. But when I feel a little stressed, I go surfing, meditation, hiking, or travel. I also provide my team with opportunities for joy and beneficence.
The overall goal is to enable our team by delivering amazing moments of humor to uplift their spirits towards work.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Neeraj Gupta: Our industry is full of new solutions. Like us, there’re various firms that also offer management solutions, such as Vagaro, Timely, Phorest, Rosy Salon Software, and others that become competitors of Salonist. Without thinking about our profit, we always help businesses grow as leaders in this competitive market. That’s why Salonist plays a vital role in the salon beauty industry.
For staying in the whole game for the long run, the overall vision is to maintain a competitive place in the market by focusing on a great communication strategy through our software and its robust features.

Neeraj Gupta: Of course, we’re working on different strategies to see the bright-side of Salonist. There’s no doubt that COVID-19 came up with some improving techniques to enhance business sales. It has allowed us to work on those to improve our product quality, build a team, and perfectly optimize our operations. We conclude that all these things will make us more powerful than we’d have been before. This further also allows us to locate ourselves among the leaders and raise our overall capital.
